I don't know enough about CIS or class 2 NI to offer any advice about whether your return is accurate or correct, but at least you should hopefully now being able to understand the derivation of the £41.40 figure (i.e. NI offset by CIS) rather than seeing it as tax that you were expecting not to have to pay?1

Ok, anyhow gotta pay it along with the class 2 £179 .eskbanker said:I don't know enough about CIS or class 2 NI to offer any advice about whether your return is accurate or correct, but at least you should hopefully now being able to understand the derivation of the £41.40 figure (i.e. NI offset by CIS) rather than seeing it as tax that you were expecting not to have to pay?0 -
The way it's presented is that the £179 is offset by the CIS figure to leave £41 as the net figure you need to pay, so it's not both....textbook said:

As HMRC will have received the CIS information from the contractor I am not sure declaring zero is playing it safe.textbook said:eskbanker said:
Probably worth sharing the draft calculation from the end of the process rather than selected screenshots?textbook said:I have about £6000 self employed net income and 5400 from PAYE, why am I paying £40 tax when I'm below the tax threshold?

I put £138 for CIS, that's 20% of net pay i was given but as the company can't find or verify that I worked for them despite getting two bacs payments I might put £0 or nothing to play it safe and not try and claim back any tax ?

I went into pay the £41 and it's carried this over to the next financial year. Why? Seems like my national insurance is all paid up though

That wasn't how I read the bit in the last picture you posted - that said it was due by 31 January 2025 (ie 11 days ago). But it also said you should check another bit of the site to see what you actually owed and you haven't posted a picture of that bit.
