Mysterious LBG PENSION REDRESS PAYMENTS showing on your HMRC PAYE Records?

This happened to me and has happened to others.

It appears that the payment description "LBG PENSION REDRESS PAYMENTS" applies to all "correction" payments made by Scottish Widows to policyholders of company pensions that Scottish Widows have previously or are currently managing.

If you see this in your HMRC PAYE records and need an explanation then the number to ring is Scottish Widows Company Pension Department on 0800 032 1260.

Why "LBG" you may ask - It's because Scottish Widows is part of the Lloyds Banking Group.
