Is this a scam? Tax fraud

Just received a concerning phone call from 07303900933 with an automated message supposedly from HMRC stating that a case for tax fraud has been opened against me and I should press 1 to find out more. Is this a scam?

It’s a scam. HMRC do not contact by telephone.

100% a scam.

HMRC will write to you if necessary and certainly not call from a random mobile number.

A quick google also shows that the number is associated with scams.

HMRC just don't contact you like this!

Judging by similar stories online, one of two things would have happened:

Either you would have been speaking with an "investigator", who would have asked you to "pass security" by giving all manner of personal information. Or, you might have been warned that arresting officers were on the way to your home, and the only way to stop them was to pay your taxes right now; and you would have to pay in the form of Amazon gift cards...
