Dreaming of Disney

Hello there!!
I haven't looked on here for a long long time but i think it's time that i did. January has been an absolute whirl wind of deciding what to do, how to do it and gathering my thoughts, bit of a practice start to the year, so im going to start from February pay day, which happens to be tomorrow.
As of the end of December 2024 we had £17,484.04 debt (plus a mortgage) and im not totally sure how we got there..........or maybe im just in denial about it.

I wont bore you with out history, although i am happy to share if anyone is interested. But where we are now is DH is a high earner and i am studying, we dont receive anything from the government and im really really really trying to budget to keep us on track and get this debt paid off for good.

The ultimate goal is for us to retire early and travel, although i am an absolute dreamer and in my mind have so many places that i would like to take our children before they get older, hence the name 'dreaming of disney'. We was lucky enough to go last year and would really like to go back with them, although right now that is a bit of wishful thinking. Should we have paid the money off our debt instead of going, probably. Was it worth it though.....100% and we dont regret a thing!

Debt as at 31/12/24
Credit card £8,982.18
Loan £7,546.87
Next £954.99

I am trying to do digital cash stuffing which did work in January, although we did slightly overspend by about £200, but compared to other months this is amazing. Ive decided to do weekly budgeting and what is left over at the end of the week (if any) will be put into savings, im also doing the 52 week challenge.
Ive tried documenting on social media but i felt too judged so hopefully this place will be a little easier for me to jot things down and keep track.
Id love to connect to people in a similar position to us, and hopefully will crack this debt once and for all........
