What is the point of us all agreeing on something we have no real control over?

What is the point of arguing about it?
The word isn't argument. It is discussion.  It brings forward multiple views that might help the OP.

The cap on TFLS could increase in the future. Has anyone said it will definitely be frozen?
The cap is a fixed amount in legislation.
A bit like the legislation which means the income tax Personal Allowance increases by CPI each year.  Until a politician decided it shouldn't be so the legislation was changed.

The difference being that the legislation around the personal allowance is phrased as a pause in increases, for a specified period, after which it is expected to once more increase by inflation.  There is nothing anywhere that indicates an intended limit to the length of time the TFLS is frozen for.

I agree though that politicians could always do something unexpected.
