I was made redundant about a year and a half and to get back to a role, I have been trying to upskill myself. I enrolled a IT training provider in last year May for a 2 weeks course with intership and placement assistance. I chose this place as this has offered the training and work experience for UK and not taken it from anywhere else. They charged me 1400 GBP for the same. I had taken another course which costed 1000GBP and both these were seperately. Since I didn't have so much money, they said I can pay it via payitmonthly without interest and set it up for me.
Fast forward to receiving the service, it was delivered from India where this course cost just under 300GBP and content was not relevant to current times. I only learnt when I was looking out for Jobs and recruitment consultants take this internship as one as they say their quality is poor. So I am now left with no money and no use of this course and feeling stupid for paying so much money. I spoke to the company and expressed my dissatisfaction, they dismissed it off, so i spoke to the bank who cancelled the payment (1 payment due, rest are all paid) and reverted the payment made towards the 1400gbp and cancelled the DD.
Payment monthly called threatening that i signed a pip and i must pay. IT course provider didn't respond to the emails yet. I am writing here to see if anyone has ever handled anything like this and what are my rights to fight this to get at least part of my money back?
I have been making these payments using my JSA and that has stopped since December and this money would be a big help to me to survive until i find a job.
Many thanks for your help.

Recruitment consultants aren't exactly impartial, their job is to get you placed with a client. That won't happen if you're doing an internship elsewhere. I'm not saying they're wrong, but I am saying they're far from impartial.I only learnt when I was looking out for Jobs and recruitment consultants take this internship as one as they say their quality is poor. I am aware of the "IT internship" job postings that are commonplace. They will train you up with basic certifications (usually CompTIA stuff) and then sell your services to companies (usually at quite a high rate) which is what constitutes your "internship." So what training did you get and what internship have you been offered?
There's a lot of subjective feelings in your post but without knowing what you got (and ideally what it was sold as) I don't think anyone can advise you other than to say recalling the DD and cancelling it was probably an unwise move.
