New Year, New me Top O/S tips please!

I have been so busy hunting for best buys for Christmas (for the last few months) that I have hardly spent anytime on this board with all you amazing people!

Happy New Year to you all!!

One of my New Year's resolutions is to try and focus myself more on getting organised, with the clutter, the food, the housework, the money and life in general!

I hope I can check in with you all everyday and spend my time more constructiveely doing things rather than thinking about it or shopping for the elusive bargains online all the time instead!

Any top tip to get me back in touch with O/S greatly appreciated and hope to be reaquainting myself with you all soon!

    Write. It. Down. Everything.

My golden rule for being organised - it doesn't matter where you write it but my system is as follows:

On the fridge there is an old envelope. Everytime we run out of something, it goes on the list. List is then ready for shopping trip.
Write down your meals for the week. I meal plan in that I buy food in for a fixed number of meals, but I don't say when we're going to have them. So when we get in from work we have a choice of, say, pasta, jacket spuds or whatever and I know I have the stuff to cook them.
    Write down what you spend!

Good luck and happy new year!

When de-cluttering, make at least 4 piles

1 - Items worth keeping, then keep, as long as you find a suitable place/home for them, to keep your clutter down
2 - anything worth selling, either put on ebay or the car boot, (better to get money in return for suitable/re-usable items)
3 - items which can be used, but your not bothered about selling them or keeping them, then either put in the bag for the charity shop or offer them on freecycle. Better to let others gain from your cast off's.
4 - Rubbish! Remembering to re-cycle as much as you can

I always start with the most lived in area's to de-clutter, my motto is, if its not been used within 12months - out it goes. I used to hoard things, knowing it would get used one day. Not no more!

Try and keep on top of your clutter! and Try not to let it pile up again.

One of my big piles is stuff for ebay that I keep meaning to put on ....
I haven't actually sold anything on ebay for at least 2 years so the stuff just sits under the bed in the spare room!

Determined to go through all the games etc we have sitting around and see if we actually need them, if not they can go to the next school fair!

If its not used, and you think you can get money for it, then spend a few moments each night, writing a description about that item, and save it to your desk top (take a pic at the same time so you have it all at the ready), then when there is a 10p listing day, just whack it all on! I used to spend hours, doing all items individually, but now I do as I mentioned above, and tales no time. I know there is a way you can list faster (but Im not technically minded to do it) perhaps if you nip over to the ebay, amazon, car boot thread, they might help!
