www.homelidays.com seems to be a pretty good website. I booked on there last year and again this year.0

Wow - what a lot of very newbie advice going on in this thread!!
Try www.holidaylettings.co.uk. They charge about £100 one off fee, but they seem to be very well known, and we've had numerous bookings from them that have validated the initial spend.
We've also advertised on ebay, and had lots of enquiries, but no actual bookings.
Good luck0 -
When we've looked to rent somewhere I simply go to Google and type in Holiday lettings or Holiday rentals.
The usual that come up...

Thanks for all the advice in here - we're looking at possible renting out my Grandfathers house to help pay for his residential home fees.
Are there any good sites/books for advice on holiday lets as we really are unsure as to whether to go for a long term let or a holiday let?
I appreciate that there will be fewer people looking for holidays in the winter months - but do you still get the odd booking or does it dry up completely?
Does letting earn enough during the summer to manage all year?
Sorry for all the questions - sadly we can't afford to take a risk and it not work out - though I'm happy to put as much effort into it as possible to make it work.

Hi All
New poster in this chat room, but been a reader for a while
I have a holiday home that I rent out in Spain. I've just advertised it free for 12 months on what looks like a good site. Only took about 10 mins to put my text and photos on.
They sent me an email and their address is www.rentinthesun.com Apparently you need to use their offer code fim12 by 30th November for a free page
Good luck

Check out Holiday Rentals, VRBO and Owners Direct. There are also Turkish-specific sites no doubt. Also check out Lay My Hat and do your own promotion by creating a site and participating on forums that allow sig files such as Aardvark Travel.
Good luck!0 -
I haven't read all the posts but wanted to add that make sure you take (or get someone to take on your behalf, though that option not very MSE) lots of photos of all rooms in the property, outside space as well as either side of the property to show whether overlooked.
I've been looking for a villa to rent for 2009 but when searchinig Owners Direct or Holiday Lettings, many of them have a distinct lack of photos.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -
There is a good website with loads of info and forums for holiday home owners who rent them out. It's called Lay my hat.
Hope that's of use..No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30 -

We've just started to rent our Bulgarian villa via Owners Direct and we're almost fully booked for the summer having only been advertising for two months. Other people on our resort have taken 6 bookings in just two weeks. From memory they charge £139 a year which isn't that cheap but we've more than covered our costs. http://ownersdirect.co.uk
Don't forget it's always advisable to have your property insured especially if renting it out. We've used Intasure who came up with a price of just under £200 http://www.intasure.com
£1m buildings, £5m public liability, only £10k contents with a £50 excess0
