Can't remove Additional Information and Attachments from submitted Self-Assessment tax return

On HMRC advice I managed to amend my submitted Self-Assessment tax return and remove one incorrect entry, but only by removing the whole (optional) section, adding it back again and making the one correct entry that belonged there. However no matter how many times I tried, I couldn't remove Additional Information and Attachments relating to the removed entry. The error message said: "3. Tailor Your Return - You cannot remove a section from within 3. Tailor your return." (which was exactly what I had to do) "Please use the Delete link from within the section you wish to remove. " The Delete link was not found where it said it should be. I couldn't change or delete the text in the Additional Info box or remove the attachments (although there were Change and Delete buttons on that page. The final tax calculation was correct so I submitted the SATR with the redundant bits there. Where did I go wrong and can I expect HMRC to contact me?
