I've ordered a Hotpoint washer/ dryer from Empire Direct. We already had a card with them from a previous purchase which entitles us to a 3 year warranty (cost £30 if you've not got one). Mind they lie about their stock situation - 3 days they say for delivery and I ordered mine a fortnight before xmas and I'm still waiting (comes tomorrow).

The particular model we bought also comes with a 5 year parts and 1 year labour warranty anyways (Hotpoint manufacturers I believe)...could have bought it £100 cheaper elsewhere but the warranty swung it as other sites only gave a 1 year, with 3 years coming in at around £129 extra.

Beware though as the same model at other retailers (at a lower price) didn't have the 5 year parts. perhaps it's to do with the price - pay more get better cover. Perhaps worth a phone call prior to ordering.

My dad bought one of these today as his packed up on Christmas Eve. £134.10 with his pensioner 10% discount.

Bought one of the £169 ones today from Bolton. Was reduced to £89 to clear, manager said he would do it for £80. He told us it was the last one and they were being discontinued. They had the same one in silver still at £169, our was white.

Ordered the on the 1st of Jan the Bosch WAE28363GB Washer 1400spin 6kg Classixx for £279 (£369 in currys & comet!), being delivered this Saturday 4 days from ordering. - Never had a problem with Empire Direct.

Also got the 3 Year Guarantee with this item. Exclusive to edXtra members which was only £19.99 before xmas when I got a TV

In the first posting the washer might be cheap but could be very noisy and bounce around the kitchen! use more water and elec.
