Phoned them up again. Didn't sort the minor issue out, however they have explained a bigger issue.
Some money I paid them in June, has not yet been allocated to my account. (considering that was an online automated process that is surprising!, it's not like I sent them a cheque!).
They will try and refund that within 5 weeks.Organgrinder - Thanks for the offer. I'll have one other go with them, and then PM you.0 -
Phoned them up yesterday about my pension. They said they would check the calculation and phone me back.To my amazement they phoned back today, and said the computer had made an error. It hadn’t taken into account the £500 allowed on savings interest. (Not sure what that had to do with it, but it was £500 out, pretax). My calculation was correct and they are sending me a cheque.1

I've been using the letter method (the template you can find online) and have had an annoying amount of back and forth. The latest they've asked for is interest statements for all of my bank accounts. I did have an adjustment to my tax code this year due to going over £500 in interest but given they clearly already know the interest amount as they've applied a tax code update, I'm not sure why they need to see interest statements from that same period.0

...and of course computers think for themselves....absolutely no suggestion that any human might have any responsibility ....AndyPK said:Phoned them up yesterday about my pension. They said they would check the calculation and phone me back.To my amazement they phoned back today, and said the computer had made an error. It hadn’t taken into account the £500 allowed on savings interest.Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0
