Hi again, just been reading through yesterday's posts.
Mehefin, I think January is a nothing month, I'm always glad when January is over, it's to be ' got through' I think. Sorting through Dawn's clothes will have been a sad business as well.
Ruby, poor Rob will be frightened at all the upheaval, but it's better that his Mum is in hospital.
Coxy and Izzy, the first house we lived in had a white and pale grey tiled floor in the largish kitchen diner, and I washed it every single day! Though I was young and houseproud then.
I didn't pull out the contents of my fabric cupboard yesterday
but went through my wardrobe instead, so there's now a bag for the chazzer.
Don't know what delights are in store for today, we might get out for a walk if Dh is up to it. The hormone treatment he's on makes him tired, but he's trying to ignore it.
Hoping everyone has as good a day as they can. Thinking of our sad and poorly people, take care folks.13 -
Morning all - thanks for the start @Scarlet. Going through your wardrobe is a good use of time - I am avoiding doing it.Yesterday morning was very productive, the afternoon less so. I arrived at the opticians right on opening time and it's an hour away. The very kind assistant fixed my broken glasses leg free of charge. A short drive to the huge Tesco but only to drop off a bag of soft plastics and notice that the cafe has had a lovely refurb, much nicer now though I didn't linger. The car park has recycling dumpsters so I got rid of the two bags of paper / plastic, three bottles and two small bags of clothes. Next was a refuel for my car. The drive home was clear, not much traffic, so I headed into my wee town to collect meds, buy some Chrystal shortbread (best in the entire world IMO) and then take the smelly black bag to the tip. That was more than enough for me.It's the birthday lunch this afternoon so I'll be driving down to Inveraray for that. The candle and shortbread are ready to hand over (shortbread is in a tin). Last night I began to cough and sneeze, all because of the scented candle so I put the bag in the hall out of range. I can't even sit in the same room as those beautiful huge lilies with the overpowering smell, it sets off an attack of sinusitis.I hope everyone has a good day whether with little ones, bigger ones or neither. Hugs all round.12

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet - another one who needs to do a cull of the wardrobe.
Dry again this morning but quite overcast. I put some washing out yesterday that half dried, finished it off overnight by the stove.'s'
I had the little one for a sleepover on Friday night, we had a great time and she slept really well although she was in my bed! We had a wander to the cafe for a second breakfast and she bought a rubber snake and a necklace from the charity shop with her money. Her Mummy and Daddy came for her at lunchtime yesterday and we had a good game of hide and seek - she's getting better at keeping quiet!
Enjoy your party Gers.
Take your time Mehefin, it's an emotional process.
Poor Rob Ruby, hope he's ok.
I had a phone call from the Doctor on Thursday, I have been referred to the surgeon to have the gall bladder removed. I think there's a long wait.
Off to Costco this morning, hoping I can make it to their petrol station before I run out. Really need to get my car washed too, it's filthy.
Hope everyone has a peaceful and enjoyable Sunday. Take care. XX

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Another rubbish night for me I am getting fed up of them. If someone is hiding Mister Sandman in their wardrobe can they please let him out. Thank you!
A dismal grey day here and still feeling cold. I hate winter. More so this year as it seems to be going on and on with too many "nothing" days for me too. I currently have some mince cooking to make a shepherds pie for my lunch and lots of individual portions to freeze as I find them useful if I have any leftover mash. Such excitement.
Have a good day if you can folks and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. RUBY I'm glad Rob is being looked after but the poor soul must wonder what's going on. But his mum is in the best place. Take care all, stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -
Morning everyone we have an icy start we are going to Darlington today to sort our phones out and I want to call into primark and get some trainer socks mine all have holes in I’m down to my last pair and I need a new pair of fluffy ones for sitting in the house . Gers I’m rubbish at geography but I watched something the other night called the most beautiful road or something along them lines and Inveraray rang a bell if you live that way you are very lucky it was beautiful but I had to laugh at the lady who said how lovely the weather was but was swatting midgies well you can’t have it all ways she laughed. Mehefin you are doing really well it’s still very early days . Thinking of Rob I hope he’s alright Camelot I hope you don’t have to wait to long for your operation I had to laugh at the hide and seek and the rubber snake they definitely keep us amused DP1 it’s good to hear the little one is doing well at the moment long may it last . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Morning all from dull grey mehefinland
Took a bag of stuff to the CRUK shop yesterday afternoon in the local market town. It was like an ant's nest - I have never seen so many in a charity shop - all done up to the nines too ( it is an affluent town!!), and me in my scruff having done horse, been to the agricultural merchant etc. Not that I cared lol.
A 'quiet ' day in most other ways, but I have been suffering with a lot of back pain recently and I am trying to take things a bit easier ( I have no immediate backup for the horses if I get ill so I have to be careful), even though that is much easier said than done.
Think today will be a baking day, got a few things need using up and a recipe I want to try. At least if they turn out disasters less than perfect there's only me to eat them! If any good, I will share.
Hugs and spoons as always. Keep the poodles warm

Morning all.
Dull and dreary here but I might pop out later as I have a rotten cold and we're down to the last dregs of the Night Nurse. My head is clearer when I'm outside.
I've also managed to leave the reading glasses that live in my handbag at a pub. Only realised when I went to get them out on Friday so have phoned around and they are at a pub near Watford, where we had lunch with friends on Monday. Luckily I will be quite close to there on Wednesday evening so can call in and pick them up.
Yesterday I walked up to the Library and got a few books to read and then persuaded DH to help me tackle an overgrown area at the side of a path opposite our house. It just leads through to a row of 7 old terraced cottages and is very overgrown with brambles, which we managed to clear, but our green bin is now full so we've left the remainder at the side. Some of the larger ones needed a saw as they were so thick. We can put the rest in our bin once it's emptied tomorrow.
I'll be starting the slow cooker soon as I have some chicken drumsticks to cook. Yesterday we did sweet potato fries in the air fryer and they came out fine.
Look after yourselves all.12 -
Morning all. It's just about light but very dull with thick cloud forecast for the day, highs of 3 C and -1 C tonight; it will be another day of hibernating for me. I'm not motivated to do much when the sun doesn't put in an appearance so I predict it will be slothful too.
Yesterday Mr Postie delivered a parcel, the two pairs of shoes I'd ordered from Hotter; they fit perfectly and will replace the ones that have been put aside for the CS. That's me sorted for footwear now for a good while so I'll be ignoring their marketing blurb for sale items. DS popped in for a coffee and a chat mid-afternoon, an unexpected but welcome visit that broke the day up nicely. I finished the book I was reading and now have two to take back to The Little Free Library some time this week.
Last night's chicken & mushroom pasta meal went down a treat; today it's Cornish pasty and I'll cook the last of the Xmas sprouts plus extra potatoes. Leftover mash + sprouts = bubble & squeak for another day.
Nothing in particular planned for today other than taking the meter readings (could be scary) and tonight I'm planning to watch Call the Midwife followed by sampling the first episode of the new drama Out There starring Martin Clunes.
That was a busy morning @Gers. Enjoy today's birthday lunch.
Good news about the op @camelot1001 - I hope you don't have to wait too long though.
Take care all, hugs where needed or wanted. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
