My house was repossessed in Oct 2012 and sold off via an auction .I was informed it was sold for less than i owed . I have had no one contact me for any outstanding money. How long will my name stay on any lists for.
can i apply for a mortgage again now with my husband????

I'll ask for this to be moved to the mortgages board
There should be nothing showing on your credit file. Have you checked?
The Limitation Act gives 12 years to start a court claim so you are probably there now0 -
Surprised no one has chased you if there was a shortfall. You can use the house price sites eg Zoopla to find the last sold price.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. When was the property actually sold? I only ask as they may class the debt as being accrued from when the property sold rather than when it was reposessed. You might still have some time for the 12 years to be up. If you put the postcode and house prices in google you should be able to find out the date it sold.
It wont be listed anywhere, but you might need to disclose it if asked. Some lenders ask about "ever" rather than in the last 6 years. And some lenders ask "ever" but only mean the last 6 years. Worth double checking beforehand.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
