in Cutting tax
When I did my tax return recently, it asked me if I want to pay voluntary Class 2 NI Contributions. I said yes, but I can't see anywhere to pay the bill.
I asked about this on the online chat. It showed a page that asks for an 18 digit number but I don't know where to find that number. In previous years, I wasn't asked for an 18 digit number. Has this changed?
Also, when it says the deadline is 31st January for paying Class 2 NI Contributions, is that the deadline they have to recieve the payment by, not the deadline for paying it?

Have you checked that to make sure it is shown?

Ways to pay
Make sure you pay HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) by the deadline. You’ll be charged interest and may be charged a penalty if your payment is late.
The time you need to allow depends on how you pay.
[...]
If the deadline falls on a weekend or bank holiday, make sure your payment reaches HMRC on the last working day before (unless you’re paying by Faster Payments or by debit or credit card).
