Hi please can anyone help a totally thick newbie to working out her tax. I know some will say that I need to use an accountant but I want to learn and do it myself. When I go on the Martin Lewis tax calculator and enter in details, why does the tax free allowance increase from the £12,750

What details are you entering? There are various allowances that may offer relief from some tax liabilities, although the personal tax allowance itself wouldn't actually be raised above £12,570....daytimedolly said:Hi please can anyone help a totally thick newbie to working out her tax. I don't think anyone is going to be able to answer that without you giving us some idea of what figures you are entering where.0

I've just tried the calculator and it gives me 12570 tax free. That's correct
