Started a new job....

Hi All, This post is not really money related other then the fact that I worry I won't have a job and therefore no money. What this post and query is about I have started a new job there is potential it will go perm. The problem I am having is normally I am on the edge of my seat excited when I start a new job (I know crazy), but this excitement makes me more focused and really productive and a feeling like I am giving it my all. However in this new role I feel an element of flatness it could be just me, I have drive and I try my best in the job, but I don't have that on the edge of my seat which gets me thinking more clearly and potentially do a better job? I have literally just started in the last week and I worry that I won't give it my best because of this flat feeling...has anyone ever experienced this? Do you know what it is about? have I still got the ability to perform well even while feeling flat? The job itself is credit control/ accounting which I have done before, but a little more challenging owed to the type of complicated work they do. However I applied for the role based on location/ flexibility/benefits not specifically the job spec although there were elements that I had not done before. Thanks.

As it's a temporary job, you always have the option to 'escape' without too much damage to your cv. Sometimes that sense of knowing there's an open door you can walk through can make a job more attractive; other times it's the knowledge that you don't have to 'make a go' of it can have the reverse impact. Could that be what's happening here? Or maybe it's just January, bad weather, their post-Christmas slump...? Sometimes you can overthink things and perhaps that's the case? Credit control isn't usually mega-exciting!
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

Thanks Marcon for messaging me....As soon as I arrived I heard that the member of staff who I would have been helping out has resigned so there is the room for permenant role and they did imply that I would be taking on her job, but not a definite as I haven't had a change of contract, I guess they will try me out. I guess the role is not exciting or the field of accounts, but I am normally buzzing when I start and I just don't have that buzz, maybe because I am older (and maybe wiser) I have lost that buzz? and I worry that I will lose my ability to perform now! Eak?! Especially as it is a more complex client base as well. I thought that energy helped focus the mind...perhaps it will be better but I haven't had enough time to proove myself yet, and I am a big worry wort!! Sorry for the post.
