Prize Draw Terms and Conditions

NB: Due to the nature of the prize the winner and their guest must be physically fit and able to walk over challenging terrain unaided. The winner must refer to the Great Railway Journeys mobility rating guide found here. The tour’s rating is Level 3 – Comfortable Explorer.

 

1. This prize draw is open to residents in the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man or Republic of Ireland aged 18 years or over. Employees of Telegraph Media Group Holdings Limited and its group companies (“Promoter”), and Great Rail Journeys Limited (“Prize Provider”), their families, agents or anyone else professionally associated with the draw are not eligible to enter.

 

2. Details of how to enter form part of the terms and conditions. It is a condition of entry that all rules are accepted as final, and that the entrant agrees to abide by these terms and conditions.

 

3. Entries must be submitted via telegraph.co.uk/grjcompetition and entry is restricted to one per person. Once submitted, entries cannot be amended in any way.

 

4. Late, illegible, incomplete, defaced or corrupt entries or entries sent through agencies and third parties will not be accepted. No responsibility can be accepted for lost entries and proof of despatch will not be accepted as proof of receipt. The winner will be drawn at random from all entries received by the closing date. Subject to any objection by the winner, the winner’s surname and where available, county can be obtained by emailing “India’s Golden Triangle, Tigers and Shimla tour Prize Draw winner” to eipam@telegraph.co.uk within one month after the closing date of the prize draw.

 

5. All entries must be received by midnight on Friday 31 January 2025.

 

6. The winner will be contacted by the Promoter by telephone or email within five days of the closing date of the prize draw. Should the Promoter be unable to contact the winner, or should the winner be unable to accept the prize within seven days, the Promoter reserves the right to award the prize to an alternative winner, drawn in accordance with these terms and conditions.

 

7. The prize as described is available on the date of publication. Should the prize become unavailable, a substitute of equal value will be provided.

 

8. One winning entrant will win two places on Great Rail Journeys India’s Golden Triangle, Tigers and Shimla tour.

The tour includes:

 • Return economy class flights for two from London Heathrow to Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport

• All overseas transfers, train and coach travel

• 12 nights hotel accommodation as follows: Four nights in Taj Palace, New Delhi; Three nights in The Oberoi Cecil Hotel, Shimla; One night in Taj Convention Centre Hotel, Agra; Two nights in Ranthambore Regency, Ranthambore; Two nights in Taj Amer, Jaipur

• Breakfast and dinner each day and six lunches

• A tour manager throughout the trip

• Excursions and entertainment including: Travelling on the ‘Toy Train’ through the Himalayan foothills; History of Shimla tour; A guided tour of Delhi; A guided tour of the Taj Mahal; A safari in Ranthambore National Park

9. The prize must be taken as one package, and the winner must travel before 31 October 2025. The winner may choose from the available departure dates on Great Rail Journey’s website. The winner and their guest can each take one piece of luggage up to 23kg. The winner’s guest must be aged 18 or over.

 

10. Any costs incurred in addition to the prize elements listed in Condition 8, shall be incurred at the winner’s and/or their guests expense including but not limited to; travel, food and drink, travel insurance, activities, personal expenditure or incidental costs. It is the responsibility of the winner to ensure they and their guest each has a valid passport, travel insurance and where necessary visas and vaccinations. The winner and their guest must comply with the governments FCDO travel advice for India and at the time of travel.

 

11. The prize is subject to Great Rail Journey’s booking terms and conditions found here.

 

12. All elements of the prize are subject to availability, non-transferable and there are no cash alternatives.

 

13. The winner may be required to participate in reasonable publicity on behalf of the Prize Provider and the Promoter.

 

14. Entrants’ data will be used for the purpose of administration of this prize draw and in accordance with the permissions granted or withheld at the point of entry. For information about how the Promoter uses personal information, please see the Telegraph's privacy policy.

 

15. Events may occur that render the prize draw itself or the awarding of the prize impossible due to reasons beyond the control of the Promoter. Accordingly, the Promoter may, at its absolute discretion, vary or amend the promotion and the entrant agrees that no liability shall attach to the Promoter as a result thereof.

 

16. The Promoter is responsible for the first part of the promotion, which is the publication and adjudication of the prize draw. Provision of the prize is the responsibility of the Prize Provider.

 

17. These Terms and Conditions are to be interpreted in accordance with English law and any dispute arising out of these Terms or their subject matter is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
