Still worth pursuing getting the marker removed once you clear the arrears, no harm in asking.
On what basis would they remove the marker? It's an accurate record of the facts. If markers such as this were removed willy-nilly, it somewhat defeats the whole object of having a credit record in the first place.

I'd agree that the OP has nothing to lose by asking - on the basis that they would have expected best practice to mean they were informed about this at the time the arrangement was made. However, if the reply is the expected "Nope, can't do that" then I would say it would be a poor use of their time pursuing it further.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I totally see your point, however a counter argument could be that the marker wouldn't have been added if the customer had been given a clear picture of it's impact. I honestly think that there needs to be much stricter processes in place and for customers to sign to say that they agree to the AR markers. As many have said on here, it might be preferable to default, however I was not given the correct info to make that choiceCliveOfIndia said:Still worth pursuing getting the marker removed once you clear the arrears, no harm in asking.
