Not enough tax paid

Options
I have just received a Tax calculation stating I have not paid enough tax.  How is this possible ? I have been working for the same company for 9 years I have no other jobs or income my company pays the tax (Sainsburys), I have no benefits in-kind such as health care or dental no company car it is just a straight  full time job.. No savings worth mentioning approx £1000 and no extra funds to pay this tax I have supposedly not paid what do i do or what are my options

Could be many reasons, how much is it and how often are you paid? If there is no other income them could be a week 53 payment.

Chances are it will be collected through next years tax code.

If you are four weekly paid ( as I understand most Sainsbury's employees are)  and received pay on Friday 5/4/24 then this will have been paid as week 56 and result in owing tax.

    Details here....

The combination of it being a leap year and the 4th and 5th being Thursday and Friday the most likely weekly paydays will I suspect mean quite a few being affected by the week 53 54 56 rules.
