M&S meal deal sell by date reduction

I was shopping in M&S Port Glasgow yesterday and fancied the £15 meal deal. Main, side and either starter or dessert.
The main I chose was lamb which was marked down with yellow sticker from approx £12 to £7, so I was expecting a reduction in the £15, hopefully down by the £5 reduction on the yellow sticker but anything welcome but no! Nothing offered! Supervisor called - still nothing! At first they couldn't get their heads round it but eventually it dawned on them what I was on about but I still ended up paying the full £15 even though the main was marked down by approx £5.
Poor show M&S!!

The £15 deal requires you to take all three items, so you also don't get a reduction if you take only two of them.6 -
Reduced items are rarely included in promotions.3

"it's the system mate" - have the same problem trying to the "dine at home" or whatever Tesco's latest version is - has to be main, side, desert, drink - all labelled to get the overall £12 price ... except they run out of drinks and somehow the whole thing just doesn't work0

But the £15 Meal Deal (wasn't that £12 las week?).
Buy the £7 reduced item and put it in your freezer.
Does assume that the item is freezable, you've got a freezer and a spare £7.2
