On the opposite end of the scale, a lot of people rate Home Bargains and B&M? My experience is that for their limited range of food, they are often more expensive. Although we did buy sugar when it was 25% less than in Aldi or Lidl.
When I was buying for the foodbank before Christmas, Tesco instant mash (requested), cranberry sauce, gravy granules and stock cubes were cheaper than Aldi and Lidl. They also had cheap basic soap, saver and one step up, which no one else stocks.
Their "everyday savers" seems to be made by Stockwell, their tertiary brand which is also stocked by other budget supermarkets. No wonder they can price match. Their reduced tinned and jars are worth exploring too.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing1 -
Isn't Stockwell a "pretend" brand name for a Tesco product? Which other supermarkets sell Stockwell branded products?RAS said:On the opposite end of the scale, a lot of people rate Home Bargains and B&M? Have I misunderstood your post?6 -
You've understood it from the consumer point but I doubt many buying Stockwell products at other supermarkets know they are a Tesco tertiary brand. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing1

Is @RAS perhaps conflating Stockwell's with the Jack's brand, which is available in a variety of stores by virtue of being sold via Booker?Official MSE Forum Team member. Please report all problem posts to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com2

They have turned up at intervals at either Lidl or Aldi. Not regularly but since I use both regularly, and Tesco less often I was surprised to also see the brand in Tesco. Only discovered the link recently.General_Grant said:

You will have confused one of Lidl or Aldi's made up brands with Tesco's made up brand. There is no chance a Tesco brand is in Lidl or Aldi.RAS said:

As others have said, Tesco own Booker so independent stores and One Stop convenience stores will have products made by Tesco. But definitely not Lidl and Aldi.2
