Mortgage broker negligence?

Hi all,
Looking for a little advice as I think I have been massively screwed over by my mortgage broker and I'm unsure if this would constitute as negligence and what I can do about it.
I've been going through the process of buying my first property for the past 4 months. I had supplied my broker with all the relevant documents needed and although his communication was pretty shocking, I was confident he was doing his job. I then didn't hear from him for a few weeks and then got an email from another advisor to say he had left the company and someone else would be managing my case. This was at the end of Novemebr and I again struggled to get in contact with anyone for weeks. Yesterday I was more insistent I recieved an email to say unfortunately my application has been declined and we need to reapply ASAP.
I was shocked and upset by this and also confused at why they would advise me to reapply if I have just been refused. I was then told the reason I have been refused is because my previous advisor did not upload any of my documents to the lender! I am absolutely furious that I now have a declined mortgage application on my credit file because my advisor did not do his job properly.
Has anyone ever had anything similar happen or have any advice on what I should do from here?
Thanks!
TL;DR Mortgage advisor failed to upload my documents to lender resulting in declined application

Did the lender search your credit file even though they didn't have your documents? Is that the fault of the lender or the mortgage broker? What does your credit file say in respect of this failed mortgage application? If you want to sue for negligence, please quantify and justify the size of your loss which you want to claim.

Try not to panic. You wont have a declined application on your credit report, you will have a credit check - they do not show the outcome. It may not have proceeded for any number of reasons, valuation problem, vendor pulled out, you pulled out etc. Appreciate the whole process of buying a house is stressful (I was stressed when buying my house and I have been a broker for 12 years now!).
Put it behind you, negligence is a bit of a strong word I think. Not necessairly the wrong word but it sounds like you have slipped through the cracks when the broker left. It is what it is. You dont need the added stress of arguing with the broker, I would decide what you want to do going forward.
You can stick with the company or find a new broker. It sounds like you are more or less back to square one anyway so under the circumstances there is little to keep you with them if you dont want to stick with them.
