That all sounds most frustrating in organisation terms but financially sounds excellent! Glad it gives you a bit of a cushion to get stuff done.
Have a lovely trip!

TG you did indeed read that right! I confess I was inspired by an audiobook (proper chick-lit) that I listened to about Copenhagen. What I really like about theauthor’s work is that she really makes an effort to describe the place and the people where her stories are set. That and an article in positive news magazine about the Lego house (it was definitely aimed at parents, all about play and screen-free activities, but it really caught mine and Mr MV’s eye). So we’re going to Legoland, the Hans Christian Andersen house (also mentioned in the article) and Copenhagen. We’ll have (I think, not booked yet) 3 nights in each area, so hoping to do some walking and see the countryside too. Would welcome any recommendations/tips. Especially for Copenhagen.

Morning all,
Thanks beanie, BB and RT. And Cheery, I think you’ve summed up the work situation perfectly!
Just enjoying my breakfast in the YH. Sunny this morning (albeit very windy) and rain later, so keen to get out now. Was transferred onto Thursday’s crossings just after I got on the train yesterday, so have shelled out for another night in the hostel. And also, and hideously more expensively, a replacement sleeper cabin - I will argue with GWR that their website and live chat were misleading as I was under the impression you could change the booking up to the night before (and I specifically asked live chat about this on Monday) but apparently not. I don’t even want to say how much it cost, but it’s a good job work is busy at the moment! I was so looking forward to it and would have been gutted not to do it, so I bit the bullet. At least breakfast was cheap - porridge pot and half a banana (got to save calorific room for a cream tea at some point!)

Afternoon all,
Just waiting for the ferry to depart for the return journey from Scilly.
Was so lucky with the weather yesterday - it didn’t really rain at all all day, so enjoyed my walk in the morning and then had a lovely bus journey to St Ives and pootled around there. Might have treated myself to an ice cream and some cans of beer (in my bag to bring home!) from the brewery.
Weather was absolutely gorgeous this morning and had a great flight to St Mary’s. Met my friend and we went for a walk, sat in the sunshine with takeaway cuppas and then lunch and didn’t stop chatting the whole time - funny how with some friends it seems like no time at all has passed (it had been nearly 9 years).
Think I’ll be tired and ready for my sleeper cabin by the time I can board tonight!
MS things:
Saved 50p on my takeaway tea this morning by bringing my own mug! (Also had a pasty for dinner last night, reheated at the hostel and porridge this morning.)

Sounds like a lovely plan, I have not done Legoland since I was a kid but from Billund you have a lovely base to explore that part of the Country. The West coast beach is lovely and 200km of white sandy beaches usually deserted as it gets quite rough seas. In Winter you can drive on the beach. I will have a think.
HC Andersen is my part of the county and I have only see it once but my DG is desperate to go but we are waiting for the better weather. Odense itself is the 3rd largest city but with a cute centre with a river and bars and restaurants. Fynen has lots of Castles, sea side harbour town with small ferries to tiny islands. From where I live you can do island hopping and have lunch on one and ice-cream on another. Egeskov is a beautiful caste and worth a visit.
As for KBH lovely lovely City I lived there 3 year. Do not bother going to see the Little Mermaid from the landside take the canal tours its a much better view. They start in Nyhavn and you must take the Netto boats they are cheaper but a better trip. Also Tivoli is a must old fashioned theme park with smaller rides but more flowers, cute bars and restaurants and lovely open air theatre (incl in the ticket). The tickets are pricey but go in the afternoon and stay until the evening so you see it in the dark too it is so well lit up. Anyway enough for now we can always "chat" later on.

Oooooh, Tall Girl - I think - please forgive me if I am incorrect - that a vlogger I sometimes watch is based in Odense - I have checked, and although it's not written down anywhere, how she pronounces it, is how Odense is pronounced in Danish (I looked that up too). The vlogger is Helle, at Danish Musings, and 2 of the vlogs that I know feature her home city, are HERE and HERE. She has also purchased a house on an island, about an hour ?? out of the city - forgive me for not knowing the name/location of that, my Danish geography is woefully inadequate. But tmv if you wanted a little 'taste' of Odense, then Helle has incorporated footage into her videos. There may be more, but these were the 2 I could easily find. The cycling one is only about 7 minutes. Oh, and off location, but the video she posted about the Great Northern in Kerteminde…….. 🥰 (and yes, I did have to look up how to spell Kerteminde…..)

Wow TG, thank you so much for all of this - so much useful information in there! I really appreciate it! I haven't looked too much online yet, but the library doesn't seem to have a great choice in Denmark guides, so this will be really helpful - and a quiet, windswept beach is far more our idea of fun than a hot, overrun one, so the west coast sounds like a winner.
