Coffee grinder or ground almonds...

hi
As I am following a lo-carb diet and most of the baked stuff is based on ground almonds, I was wondering if there was a cheaper way to get ground almonds or maybe buy my own almonds and also buy a coffee grinder to pulverise them...
Any idea anyone?

i buy them from the supermarkets. they are around the cake making section.. i did price up the difference between buying them whole and then grinding them but to be honest it wasnt worth it
u would have to blanch them to get the skins off then have a damn good grinder to grind them
good luck with yr low carbing i have been doin the same for over a year and love it

Try the local indian shops for Almonds. They usually cost £1.50 for a kilo or something...Isn't that cheap? I have always bought them from the local indian shop and don't know how much it costs in other shops.
And I am sure you can grind them using a Moulinex blender. I have ground loads of stuff using that blender, and it costs about £20
Does this help? The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket. :rolleyes:0
