Been using a cheap air fryer for a couple of years now and an apple crumble is a favourite thing i cook.
Got a Ninja for Christmas and just tried a crumble in it, set it for 30mins as usual and when i went to get it out i found that almost half the crumble topping had been blown off.
Any ideas what i can do, if i cover it with foil it wont brown.

Bit puzzled as this doesn’t happen to my crumbles. But the air fryer does blow spinach all over the place so I use a silicon mat to cover it -a perforated one like this, only obviously one that’s the right size and shape https://www.amazon.co.uk/Silicone-Reusable-Airfryer-Accessories-Non-Stick/dp/B0BNLJ7K8R/ref=sr_1_33?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.qNtE9U_GMR4CUOa8eU-7CGx98ObWUzLbGDrV307Jr6p2UBlEhZKu_b5RMhoKZ6IijAMnrhiNdKKxfsgJtxl-Qr07dlkovIwilHnRW1Bl7iEKJ6w7-NvUdUu-DiIt1VZQBy6xV838xwjXO5IAjhEzqm14544x8a3w431zRAfWv7PAr_AnrUpjln4O3SHZdYwyqWGTBm-FKTg7Gk5kI3h5-MbILk9qhdIcfB8-O3HINME.xdT2h0uOvFgPRfbCKE14NxsNKcvTw2PKgMuHuiNmUSU&dib_tag=se&keywords=silicone+mat+air+fryer&nsdOptOutParam=true&qid=1735685046&s=kitchen&sr=1-330

Change your settingsBake has the lowest fan settingWhen Im cooing something that I think may be blow up to the fan, I keep opening and shutting the drawer so it has time to "melt" and not blow off
So crumble Is stick on bake and poen and check every minute till you can see yourself its baking and not going to move0 -
Yes, i am still getting used to it and did not realize that the setting affects the fan speeds so i did the crumble on roast and just turned the temp down.
Next one will be done on bake.
My last air fryer only had a timer and temp control.0 -
My Air fryer is a very basic one and does blow things about. For apple crumble, I cover with foil for about half the cooking time. By then the crumble has 'stuck' together so I can take the foil off and it browns in the second half.0
