I got loads of our baby things from www.kiddicare.com. They always have good deals on pushchairs etc. If you go through quidco, then you get 4% cashback too.0

There's always lots of people needing to pass on good quality second hand stuff for nowt.:T0 -
I 2nd the freecycle site, and netmums have a nearly new section too, can pick up very cheap 2nd hand goods there.Mortgage free 04/03/2025. Thanks to this site and lots of overpayments bit by bit.
Next stop: house repairs, holiday fund, replace our very old cars, more financial security/early retirement savings.🤞0 -
kiddicare.com are a bit like boots in that they have plenty of 'phantom' product offers.
that is amazing prices on certain products that have soldout or have been discontinued and that you cant purchase.
saying that iv purchased original price goods from them and could not fault there service.0 -
Hi
We have a shop near us that new and second hand nursery items and when you've finished with things they sell them for you. I found it very useful as some things you only use for 6 weeks and they've grown out of it but still in A1 condition.
Good Luck with your new arrival !!!0 -
Be careful with Kiddicare, the CS "helpline" is £1.50 per minute. There's an email address if they deign to respond to you. I bought a faulty grobag from them and had to resort to stalking for a week to get them to do anything.
TK Maxx are good for baby bits, also the national childbirth trust has nearly new sales which are worth a look.0 -
Ordinary Pillowcases make the best bottom sheets for the pram/moses basket, they don`t get ruckled up and you can use both ends and both sides before you have to change it if the baby has only dribbled a little bit.0

what a fab idea, beautifulgorgeous. Will be sure to tell my friend who is due in a month or so.
As for other cheap baby stuff, to add to the above posts, it's a shame that it's not often on sale (I guess they know folks'll always be having babies!) But Wilkinsons are good for bedding and blankets, which you'd probably want to buy new rather than used. Charity shops are great and the ones near me are often full of barely worn clothes, sometimes with the shop tags still on them where the baby has obviously never worn them! They grow so quick.
It's surprising how little equipment babies actually need though and how over-the-top we end up being.
When we had dd1 (a surprise) we were very strapped for cash and our families and friends very kindly organised the necessary 'big' purchases between themselves... for example 4 of my friends put money in together and bought us a pushchair, the grandparents bought the cot...... maybe you could be cheeky and ask people around you, too? It's a bit forward admittedly, but means you get something useful instead of lots of stuffed bears!!!Homer: I want to share something with you, Bart: The three little sentences that will get you through life. Number 1: Cover for me. Number 2: Oh, good idea, Boss! Number 3: It was like that when I got here.

I went in pound stretchers yesterday, and they had loads of vests & body suits and i think I saw a blanket, on bottom shelf, but didnt look at it so could have been something similar. They were all half price or less. Around a couple of pounds.BUT
(I cant remember exactly but think approx between £1-£3.00)They have christmas designs on them.
But who is gonna see the vests & bodysuits (Would be great 4 bed)Also if you or friends/family are due to have a baby soon/this year,Christmas 2008 ~ (Its only about 350 days away)
A Great Tip would be to Buy all your baby Christmas bits now,
"Baby 1st christmas"
You can get Tree Decorationss, Bibs, Vests, Cards & more.
All Half price or less in loads of shops and you will have them ready for their First Chrismas !!!~~~~~~~~~~~~:kisses3: "In Raising Your Children;" :kisses3:"Spend Half As Much Money n Twice As Much Time."0 -
I can deffo argee with Kiddiecare idea. We got one of our car seats here at a massive reduced price. Also wouldn't bother with a moses basket you can use pram and just use big cot for night sleeps.
Hopes this helps and good luck.0
