Sorry, I was getting confused with Beverley BS regarding the strange bonus element to the rate, so ignore my previous post now deleted.Kim_13 said:
I thought this was Hanley Economic. Not aware of them having a strange bonus element to the rate, Hanley simply charge an interest penalty on the amount withdrawn if the withdrawals allowed are exceeded.chris_the_bee said:
Correct, however, conditional bonus would be lost for both calendar years. Why would anyone do that to end up with a 1% interest rate? Weird account terms.Kim_13 said:
4 withdrawals over the account term, 2 between now and 5 April and 2 between 6 April and maturity. This is the implication of what the CS confirmed.chris_the_bee said:
Are you saying the website is incorrect as CS confirmed it is 2 off withdrawals per tax year.Kim_13 said:
1st September to 31st August (on which they pay out interest mid term.)ChewyyBacca said:
What is Hanley's Society year? Calendar year or something unique?chris_the_bee said:Hanley Economic
Their website states max 2 withdrawals per tax year, but 1 year Online Smart Saver (TAR10) T's&C's sheet sent with welcome letter states max 2 per Society year. CS have confirmed the website is correct and T's&C's sheet will be corrected.
As the website said 2 per tax year, they would have had to make the change as that is more favourable to the consumer (4 withdrawals over the account term if timed right rather than 2.)1 -
Opened my Hanley regular on 21/10 and deposited £300 by FP at 4.30pm same day.
Received both my welcome pack and ID today. Logged in and £300 showing as credited on 22/10.1 -
SCOTTISH BUILDING SOCIETY ONLINE REGULAR SAVER.
I spoke earlier today to a member of staff over the phone (11.46am) and asked them if they're launching the online version of their postal/branch Regular Saver.
I was told there are no plans at the moment to do so.14 -
And now there's the scramble to try to get an account opened by post and initial deposit received before the end of the month. I suspect this is is going to be rather tight.Bob2000 said:SCOTTISH BUILDING SOCIETY ONLINE REGULAR SAVER.

For those who were holding out for the online version to be launched please accept my apologies for the misinformation. It seems my sources are growing unreliable of late.4 -
Principality - for anyone who's interested, a Christmas Regular Saver 2026 is being offered as a maturity option for my Regular Saver Issue 3.
And for reference, I opted for the 6 Month Issue 4 instead, despite already having... er... one or two. Option 4, money to external account, no secure message generated. Green trim only.6 -
Thank you. For the postal application, how exactly do you fill in the cheque? I've never written a cheque in my life 😁Bob2000 said:SCOTTISH BUILDING SOCIETY ONLINE REGULAR SAVER.

Make it payable to “Scottish Building Society a/c dibbles212” replacing with your real name, date, sign and make sure amount in words and figures match. My cheque was written on the same account as the account I wanted withdrawals made to. Photograph of front of driving licence.dibbles212 said:

Where it says Pay, put your name
On the next 2 lines put the amount you're paying in words, if it's doesn't include any pence then put only at the end, e.g. two hundred and fifty pounds only.
Put the full amount including pence in numbers where the £ sign is on the middle right of the cheque, e.g. 250-00
Add your signature on the line on the bottom right of the cheque.
If there's any space left on the sections of the cheque you've filled out put a horizontal line across any unused space.4 -
"Where it says Pay, put your name". Don't you mean, put "Scottish Building Society", or have I misunderstood?Bridlington1 said:

Edited as I did misunderstand. My excuse is that it's a very long time since I wrote a cheque.0 -
