YBS Loyalty RS - I’m trying to work out best time to withdraw as it matures tomorrow (Saturday 4th). Interest has been added today. Just the weekend thing really and the best time to request the transfer if anyone has any thoughts?0

Request it on Sunday. They never transfer on the day of request so no point requesting it today and risking the deduction of a day’s interest that sometimes happens, because you’d still end up receiving the funds at the weekend.jaypers said:YBS Loyalty RS - I’m trying to work out best time to withdraw as it matures tomorrow (Saturday 4th). At around 4am, sent 3 payments manually to regular savers by FP from 1st Direct. Two to Principality and one to Virgin.
The two to Principality was credited within a few hours as expected. However, still waiting for the Virgin £250 to be credited 7 hrs later. Bank details 100% correct and passed CoP. First time I've tried sending from 1st Direct. Will go back to Santander next month.1 -

I closed mine yesterday morning and funds arrived to my bank account yesterday at around 5pm. Previously my Friday withdrawal arrived on Saturday morning.1 -

I'd suggest that the actual method by which the transfer is initiated (manual FP or SO) would make no difference to the recipient institution/account. I've missed the bit of this thread when there was a suggestion that ScotBS might not accept deposits by SO - why was that?subjecttocontract said:
They don't specifically mention standing orders. They do say bank transfer from your nominated account is ok. Not sure if that's an ok for standing orders. I associate the term bank transfer to mean faster payment. What do you think ?s71hj said:
Will it? Do they not take standing orders? I too prefer them. couldnt trust myself to not mess up if I did manually and if I was ill or indisposed suddenly and couldn't do it the whole investement strategy would be thrown off.subjecttocontract said:
I don't enjoy it at all, that's why I pay all of mine, at the moment, by standing order. The Scottish BS Reg Saver will be the only one that will need to be a manual monthly transaction.mon3ysav3r said:
I also enjoy the 1st and manually moving money - However, the 1st Nov 2025 is a Saturday, that might delay things as not much point sending money to a Building Society at the weekend that won't process it until Monday the 3rd!jaypers said:I think for many of us it’s a bit of a game. I actually enjoy the 1st of the month and moving money around…….and before anyone says, I know I can automate a lot of it but I don’t want to.That was my understanding too, standing orders are just another type of Faster Payments these days. But just to assure people I applied for the Scottish BS Regular Saver the other day and asked if a standing order would be possible and was told yes it would. Account no/sort code/ref should be in the welcome pack posted to me.1 -
We already have the SBS account number & sort code from the t&cs and you provide the reference with your individual account number.1

Progressive BS to launch issue 4 of their online regular rainy day saver on Monday 6/10/25 at 7%41

Bad news for me stuck with Issue 3 at 5.5% and although withdrawals are allowed it says the account cannot be closed. Plus only one issue of Rainy Day accounts allowed at a time.Bridlington1 said:Progressive BS to launch issue 4 of their online regular rainy day saver on Monday 6/10/25 at 7%3 -
Never bothered with Progressive as yet as I’d gleaned from here that they’re a bit of a headache to deal with. How bad are they?Bridlington1 said:Progressive BS to launch issue 4 of their online regular rainy day saver on Monday 6/10/25 at 7%

Same here, I really hope they will change the policy to allow issue 4 alongside issue 3... it does feel quite unfair otherwise to existing subscribers...OneUser1 said:

Given this product is on variable rate, at the very least they should up the interest rate on issue 3 to match..
Anyway, thanks Bridlington1 for the heads up!5
