  • I've been trying to set up a payment to a new Beverley Reg. Saver.
I have the bank sort code as supplied (NatWest) and an odd account no. 00000000.
I input those details to my bank and then my 10 digit account number.
COP recognised the name on the account but registers an error in the account number.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks.
My payment went through fine earlier today from Santander
    I’ll try again tomorrow.
Did you use the same acc. no. 00000000?
    Thanks for replying.

  • Yes I can understand that, the 4.15% would annoy me as well.
The Beverley 5.5% would annoy me as well, that's why it's not being opened by me. It would get shown up by all the others that provide a better return.
5.5% is higher than my EA savings accounts, so I have gone for it.

Well it's hardly easy access. I thought that if you withdraw money from the account..... doesn't the interest paid stay at 1% ?
    That is correct.

i don’t need it to be easy access, but as it pays more than my easy access accounts I have gone for it.
I still don't understand the accounts attraction unless, you already have the many other reg savers that pay more than 5.5%.

I have all the others. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t be going for it, as there are many better and more straightforward ones.

I don't think you've shared which bank you are sending from. I had an issue once where my bank (first direct on this occasion) insisted I used one of their pre-filled businesses rather than entering the details manually. This meant I was unable to benefit from COP, which was a little annoying. Though I doubt Beverley BS is likely to be included in such a list.

I have all of them, so for me it is either keeping £150 at 5% or move it to 5.5%. That's the attraction, but I'm still thinking whether to go for Beverley or not.  I am not too keen on the exit strategy arrangement.

Am I missing something, why not open the new Manchester B.S regular saver. Same rate 5.5% also variable and up to £500 a month and with easy access without all the conditions. And it runs for 2 years. And the system is fast, my deposit showed within an hour plus you get a text and email to tell you it's arrived.
I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
    There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.

I've opened the Manchester BS RS, but I'm passing on the Beverley BS one. Agree one is much more attractive than the other.

    Vernon BS Online RS Maturity

I've received an email telling me that on the 30th of this month they will add the interest and transfer everything bar  £1 to an EA.

I'd like to get £250 back in on the 30th and also do my usual £250 on the 1st.  Can I do that or am I stuffed because I've already put £250 in this month ?  Can I just transfer £250 or £249 back in from the EA account ?  Or if I can do another £250/£249 in on the 30th, from my external nominated account ?

Did anyone notice what time of day the interest is added and balance transferred to the EA ?  Hoping it happens early in the day, so I can try transfers during working hours.

I'm wondering if I call, I could ask for £250 to be transferred back on the 30th.  Has anyone had success with this ?

    Thanks in advance.
Pretty sure transferring all but £1 leaves your existing account stays open, so unlikely to accept £500 in the same calendar month, but worth a try if you have the cash flow available.

Thanks the manchester rs is a winner.  I was going to go for beverley but the lack of access put me off.  The 500 pcm is v generous too.
