Our systems are undergoing a transformation, and we're getting in touch to let you know about some important information about the next few weeks. Following your feedback, we’ve been working on some improvements that will mean we are able to offer a broader range of products, as well as enhancing and simplifying the way you can access and operate your accounts. The launch of our new system is imminent, and this will lead to some short-term disruption in the interim period. MyMeltonOnline From 9am on the 30th September, you will be unable to access online services for a few days. Keep an eye on our website for the most up to date information about when and how you can register for our new platform, so you can get back to operating your account. Branches We will be closing early on Tuesday 30th September at 12:00pm and plan to reopen again on Friday 3rd October. If you hold a Fixed Rate Account that is maturing in September, you will still be able to input your maturity instructions as per your letter. If your account is maturing in October, we'll be in touch early in the month to provide you with your maturity options. Any concerns? Thank you for being so patient during this period of disruption. We will be working hard during this time to bring you a new and improved system. If you have any concerns, please contact us. Thank you for your patience. Melton Building Society |

I'm an enthusiastic Regular Saver opener and collector, but this one is just too, well, not sure what the term is, not confidence-inspiring? £150 at 5.5% open-ended is good, but (for a non-fixed rate, a fixed rate I know is impossible when open-ended) I want the ability to at least close (if not withdraw) at any time without penalty. This one clearly HAS a penalty for closing except immediately after 31 December. I'm not prepared to take the risk with this one. Their operation too seems a bit ropey (eg the apparent cut and paste job on the headline blurb for this new account, not professional).0 -

If I may I'd like to take the opportunity to make a pre-emptive plea for anyone else in the same position not to pester Beverley BS tomorrow (or for the next few days) asking for an update.
Beverley BS only have a single branch with less than a quarter of the number of employees as Monmouthshire BS, if they end up with quite a few applications to process manually I could imagine they have the potential to be rather busy over the next few days.9 -
Chorley BS Home Saver Account
To anyone thinking of opening this, could I suggest that the Coventry BS First Home Saver Issue 2 (still available) would be a better choice for most savers
Pros of Coventry FHS(2)
4.50% variable v 4.25% variable for Chorley
£1000 maximum monthly deposit v £500 for Chorley
Cons of Coventry FHS(2)
Lasts for up to only 3 years v Chorley up to 5 years
Draw?
Coventry FHS(2) requires 60 days notice (or 60 days loss of interest) for withdrawals v no notice/loss of interest for Chorley withdrawals but limited to 2 withdrawals per year

Has anyone closed/withdrawn from the Coventry Loyalty Seasonal Saver since the rate reduction at beginning on month? What is the best way to do this to ensure the 30 days interest isn't deducted etc? 0 -

I would imagine as long as you close this month you will be fine (30 days from 1st Sept).2 -
I just spoke to someone at Melton BS and was told that payments in will not be affected and if it all goes to plan the new system should be up on the 3rd of October.

I think we have broken Beverley's systems. Their login isn't working this morning, no authentication codes are being sent. It worked fine yesterday.3
