Thank you Bridlington1 for all the good stuff that you’ve sent our way!

Would MHBS accept applications by post?

    • Customers may only have a maximum of two Limited Edition Regular Saver accounts open at a time, either solely or jointly, with a combined maximum deposit of £300 per month not exceeding the maximum balance of £4,500.00

IIRC the previous max was £250 pm?
The way I read and understand it, is the £250 and two accounts limited is for Regular Savers, and the £300 limit and two accounts restrictions is for Limited Edition Regular Savers, two different categories of account.
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?

Clearly (at least fairly clearly) but it's still a change of known limit. And it means/implies you can have 2 of each type if you can get to a branch.

It was, yes. It’ll be interesting to see whether £250 + £300 is accepted without issue, as previous accounts weren’t described as Limited Edition.

Is it just me or do branch only accounts appear to be increasing, with actual branches going the other way 😕
I've noticed this too, it certainly seems as though there's a lot fewer societies allowing online opening than a year or so ago. Assuming MHBS don't allow postal applications, I can't see there'd be all that many people clamouring to open one since they only have five branches, only one of which is open on a Saturday morning. The other four are only open 3-4 weekdays and even then, close at either 1:00 or 1:30!
  • Re MHBS
I just rang them to ask about postal application. There is no way around branch opening but after that all else can be done online.

Thank you, slightly disappointed but good to know.

I've had a letter confirming my Principality RS 3 rollover to RS 4 even though I already have an RS 4. I did my request online on Sunday. Will do my wife's this coming Sunday in the hope that may be the reason it worked although I have to say my suspicion is more it's random chance.
Can anyone tell me when the option for maturity comes up please? Mine (RS3) matures on 28/9 and nothing showing so far as to what options available.
Mine matures on 14th September. My maturity letter arrived yesterday, offering me Issue 4.

I have successfully given my maturity instructions online ( though the site kept trying to log me out ) to open  Issue 4 and transfer the rest to my current account elsewhere
