Opening Darlington RS2 and Monmouthshire RS in the last week brings my total active Regular Savers back up to 52 with £112,000 actually in them at 5.70%.
My maturing accounts in the next week are Hanley BS and Stafford BS with £7,000 becoming available which will drop my total to £105,000. Neither of these Building Societies has a product that interests me so my Regular Saver total will drop back down to 50.
The matured  £7,000 will to go towards my September obligations of £11,950
    And your point?
I know people here like to share how many regular savers they've got (just the 18 for me) but telling us exactly how much money you've got in those accounts isn't something I've seen before :D
I don’t even know how much I’ve got in Regular Savers 😂 I keep a spreadsheet of approximate total savings (bound to be a few accounts with minimum balances that I haven’t bothered to include, plus passbook accounts that I haven’t sent in since interest was added) but that also includes ISAs, Premium Bonds and EAs.

I’ll be paying into 15 or 16 next month as things stand. Now that Darlington have launched, I’m thinking about not replacing Skipton. I don’t have the funds for it and am covered for maturities most months until November next year (hopefully renewing a Principality 6 month will fill in one of the gaps.) If a fixed rate RS made a return I would jump on it.

    Mine is bigger than yours!
I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
    There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.

    Darlington REGULAR SAVER.

I just applied for the Regular saver and registered for online.
Is it normal after you have registered  and logged  off when signing  back in your username is visible?
    Example below

    "Hi 12345abcd"

Also the account l have visible online is called
     12 Mth Reg eSaver 2
Is this the correct  account  l wanted?
I had opened an account an hour ago and had logged off, and I have tried it just now (for you), and I did not get  "Hi 12345abcd".
I have to complete all the login details (maybe I did not asked it to remember my login details.)

my says the same:  'DARLINGTON 12 Mth Reg eSaver 2'
Thank you for checking  your login details. Looks like it is sorted now. I changed my username  to be on the safe side.

Closing RS accounts slightly earlier than the maturity date

I emptied my Virgin Money RS (the 10% one) on 29th July and then (same date) completed and submitted the online "current account" closure form for the RS (directing the closing interest to my VM current account). The closing interest was received in my VM current account on 31st July. Okay, I lost a couple of days' interest at 10% on the principal but saved myself the long wait and aggravation of waiting to close until 1 August.

My Monmouthshire BS Exclusive RS Issue 2 stands at £6000 balance and is due to mature on 24 August. No maturity instruction papers received so far. Interest rate is now a disappointing 4.90%. I anticipate that many others will have this account maturing on 24 August too (think I opened it last year on the day it became available). I have today instructed immediate closure of the account with principal and interest to my nominated account. Easy to do online, no need to empty first (withdrawals not allowed anyway, only early closure) and no need to post in the passbook/or closure form. I think there is a good chance of slow closures if there is a mass closing of the morphed account on and after 24 August. Loss of interest de minimis, as funds will not be earning much less in easy access.
I’ve done it as soon as I discovered Cahoot’s upgrade facility.  Funds arrived to my bank account on the same day and transferred to Cahoot to earn 5%. I’ve done the same with other RSs that have been reduced to below 5%.
