So what is the verdict on best way to open Monmouth Reg Saver Iss 8? I havent yet downloaded the Monmouth BS mobile app

Online banking: Would this route trigger wet signature form to be sent and thus delay funding of the account for July 2025? I m an existing member since Feb 2025 and have the online account set up.

Mobile App: Is the app working perfectly, including 2FA and Reg saver is up and running?

What would you suggest- Online or mobile app?

Also, I understand CoP is not being recognised for some. Is funding through other Monmouth BS account okay, any specific T&Cs prohibiting this? I hold a Limited Access Saver Issue 4, with no withdrawals so far, so can make first deposit through it.
Download the app and try to open it through the app.  This is a quicker option if it works.

Funding.  In theory I can fund it through EA account today, but I will wait until Monday.  Last time I funded my issue 2 RS the money didn't show until the evening 2 business days later, so if I deposit to EA now I might not see the money until Tuesday night.  I'd rather keep £500 in Cahoot (4.55%) over weekend and make my deposit on Monday morning.  COP should work by then and the money, although not visible, will be credited  to RS issue 8 on Monday.

    MonBS RS issue 8

waited till after 9, downloaded the app, applied for account and got the “system maintenance” message after the “we are processing your application” screen, so perhaps still some issues to be resolved!
MonBS RS issue 8 - update

checked the app and they are still "processing my application" according to the message I get when I log back on. I am not being asked for 2FA when I open up the app again [iOS]

    MONBS app
I've found if I turn off the facial recognition option in the app settings I only get sent one OTP code, however, I then have to use the PIN I set up on first registration as well as the OTP code instead of no PIN and 2 OTP codes.  Swings and roundabouts.

I entered an existing account number when registering the app, so it does seem that they had two 'views' of the app from there. Unless they've changed things they require a nominated account for which they've seen an original statement, so that would explain putting new customers through the paper process.

The app was quicker than I thought - longer spent with it going round and round than anything else.

I guess we'll see when people fund on Monday whether it is possible to delay funding an app version - via whether the opening date is taken to be 25/7 or 28/7.

Didn't use the app. Opened online, a list of thorough questions but not difficult. Took it steady, took 13 minutes.
    I await the email.

    Mon BS RS Iss 8

As a new customer to Mon BS, and not overly keen on "Apps" (prefer big screens and full size keyboards!), I used the online process to apply. I am not expecting to fund the RS, if I'm successful, until as late as possible in August, so any delay with providing wet signatures etc. is not an issue for me. If it costs me a stamp for lack of pre-paid return envelope, so be it, it won't make much of a dent in ~£215 interest (funding late Aug and as early as possible in subsequent months).

The only snag I came across while applying was ... at the end of page 2, it went back to page 1 and I was expecting an error message (as if I might have missed a mandatory field out). No error flagged on page 1 and onto page 2 again, with no error flagged there either. Everything went on OK from that point, so just the mystery revisiting to page 1 and 2 threw me slightly! Confirmation of application email arrived within 1 minute of completing, so now I'll just wait and see what happens next  :)

I have access to both an andriod and ios phone and as new customer, neither gives me the option to apply for the RS.
I assume the app is only for existing customers to apply for it and new people need to do the manual process via the website instead
Just found a way around this for anyone that is a new customer.

I applied for the instant saver issue 4 via the app. I entered £1 for initial deposit (minimum required) though you do not have to actually deposit it.
Application was approved and was emailed the details to complete the app registration.
Once I was in the app, I could then apply for the RS.

Both applications took around 15 mins to be approved, I now have a RS visible and ready to be funded 👍
    @roked, worked a treat thank you 😊

I tried to open it late last night on the app and got into the "processing" loop. Tried this morning and had the system message, so uninstalled and reinstalled. Then went to open the RS8, accepted the documents, and it said "processing", So it picked up where it left last night. I left it alone and after about 5 minutes of nothing, it came back with "account opened".

So anyone having app issues, try the reinstall route just in case.
    Monbs

Similar experience - reinstalled app and account opened and funded (though deposit not yet showing).
Oddly 2FA not working for text message but does for email!

My Monmouth BS Issue 8 is open and shows in the app.

I had started the application in the app around 11pm last night but it didn’t complete and I just left it. This morning it had completed, without further intervention by myself.

First £500 on their way now.

It seemed simple enough, very significantly faster than previous applications (ignoring that I was overly keen and tried to open the account earlier than it became officially available)

Mine's open too. Quid on its way.

I'm finding that the app is logging me out every time I move to another screen (filling in a new payee at my bank). which is fair enough, but logging back in demands a new OTP be generated each time despite having set up biometrics. This is a serious PITA.
I always have to double up on SMS codes because 1st time I request it doesn't advance to next screen on android app
Ditto. There's nowhere to put the 1st OTP in
I've tried several times, received 3 OTPs, nowhere to put them in.  Then I've picked e-mail option, this somehow allowed me to input the code and open the account.
i concur, the only way i can use the app is with email two factor verification, sms ends in no way of entering the code.

keep checking but initial deposit has yet to show mind :(
