Those looking to have this account run by calendar month, (i.e. from the 1st of each month), a reminder that today is the day to open/refresh.
> Sorry, we are currently unable to close your account online. This may be because your account:- is not eligible to close online- has no existing eligible payees to receive the closing balance- is currently awaiting uncleared funds e.g. an uncleared cheque- is an ISA or a penalty based account opened within the last 14 days- may have a negative balance- needs both account holders to sign to close the account
I tried opening an easy access saver (just so it had somewhere obvious to pay the funds to) and adding this as a payee (which required setting up a bogus future payment, but this didn't seem to resolve the issue. Might try again later, not the end of the world if it doesn't happen of course.
Coventry Loyalty Seasonal Regular Saver (Refreshing for 1st Month Payment Dates)
I did fund it when I opened it, and from your comment it seems you didn't and therefore could renew? Oh well, I can't be bothered faffing with closing one account now and risking another one, or having hassle trying to get back the 30D interest deduction...will just skip this month and start again from 1st Feb.
Regarding this account.
I forgeyt that CBS don't work on Calender months and have had a £250 bounced back today after I funded on the 20/12/24.
My next payment is now due for the 1/2/25.
Do CBS enforce the £1 minimum monthly contribution?0 -

Vernon BS Online Regular Saver
Deposits on non-working days: can anyone confirm whether deposits on non-working days are in fact treated as having been received the same day, please?
The value/posted dates for my deposits on Sunday 01 Dec and New Year's Day are next working day (02/12/24 and 02/01/25) in the transaction history.0 -
Coventry Loyalty Seasonal Saver
If CBS do not receive any deposit in their deposit month, from people's experience of their RS, do they tend to penalise the account holder?'

My reading of the terms therefore was that it doesn't say you must make a deposit each month, only that you can pay in as many times as you like (I would include zero in that) so long as the deposits doesn't exceed a total of £250 per account month.
Thus I'd read it as a deposit isn't necessary each month and therefore there's no penalty for skipping payments.
I seem to recall their Regular Saver (5) was worded in the same way and I was never penalised for skipping payments.2 -

Does the word 'value' appear anywhere? Is there any indication in your Vernon BS transaction history indicating the dates of the non-working days the payments were sent?

Just received the proceeds from West Brom, over 24 hours after requesting closure of the maturity account. Wondering if they are a next day as standard, like YBS et al.
The wait for the £50 to hit my Saffron RS continues. I did an internal transfer last month and it took ages for that option to appear on the 2nd, so I went for Faster Payment this time thinking it would be quicker. I have successfully used the payee before so no chance of wrong details.0 -
Monmouthshire BS Exclusive RS2
Apologues if already covered.
My SO scheduled for 1st left BoS 2nd as expected but is not yet showing in MONBS
I don’t always check each month but is this normal? Anyone had SO leave on 2nd and already credited?0 -

I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.1 -

This is par for the course. Of my 30+ RS's, MonBS is always the last to catch up with incoming payments. Try tomorrow.1
