Progressive Building Society have made their on-line Regular Saver Issue 3 (still Issue 2 on page 1 of this thread) paying 6%.

Progressive are based in Northern Ireland but the account is open to everyone over 18 in the UK with photo ID (although the staff are friendly on the phone and previously - Issue 1 - could accommodate those without photo ID.)

I believe you are only allowed one Online Regular Rainy Day saver account - regardless of issue - so those who have issues 1 or 2 cannot apply..

    Unless anyone has found otherwise?
    The terms state this.

However I currently hold issue 1 at 7% and to satisfy my own curiosity I decided to see if this term is enforced. I now have issue 1 at 7% and issue 3 waiting to be funded at 6%.
I have just done the same. i logged in first and then applied. Very easy to open and no photo id was needed.

I now have both Progressive Regular Savers, Thanks OneUser1
Like with MHBS I've taken the risk of opening both.
Did not work with Gatehouse, but who knows.
To win you have to play the game.
Just a heads up Banks do not like the reference number provided.
As I have an account this did not bother me, I did not need id either.
Took 3 mins to open and fund.

    From their email,
Please be advised it can take up to 48 hours for the account details to be recognised by other financial institutions when paying by bank transfer.

Apologies if this has already been answered amongst the many posts - how do I apply for this second account online? I have the original RS, can only see the 3.5% RS when I log in.

Those looking to have this account run by calendar month, (i.e. from the 1st of each month), a reminder that today is the day to open/refresh.
I tried this but got the following error message:

    > Sorry, we are currently unable to close your account online. This may be because your account:
    - is not eligible to close online
    - has no existing eligible payees to receive the closing balance
    - is currently awaiting uncleared funds e.g. an uncleared cheque
    - is an ISA or a penalty based account opened within the last 14 days
    - may have a negative balance
    - needs both account holders to sign to close the account

I tried opening an easy access saver (just so it had somewhere obvious to pay the funds to) and adding this as a payee (which required setting up a bogus future payment, but this didn't seem to resolve the issue. Might try again later, not the end of the world if it doesn't happen of course.
Same for me too. I was otherwise just going to skip a January payment for subsequent payments to start 1st Feb
Did you make a payment in December? Could it be that funded accounts cannot be closed online?

Coventry Loyalty Seasonal Regular Saver (Refreshing for 1st Month Payment Dates)
I did fund it when I opened it, and from your comment it seems you didn't and therefore could renew? Oh well, I can't be bothered faffing with closing one account now and risking another one, or having hassle trying to get back the 30D interest deduction...will just skip this month and start again from 1st Feb.

    Regarding this account.

I forgeyt that CBS don't work on Calender months and have had a £250 bounced back today after I funded on the 20/12/24.

My next payment is now due for the 1/2/25.

Do CBS enforce the £1 minimum monthly contribution?

Is it just me that's a bit concerned by the number of people openly breaking terms, when they are clear?
I get testing the unclear, but...

You are not alone. Everyone is entitled to do whatever, but advising people to break terms in a public forum is really something not nice.

They pulled the Apply button a few weeks ago, then it came back for a day or two.
Just open the link every day to see if it appears again.
That's how I got it open.

The option seems to have now been removed. IIRC they stopped online applications briefly about a week or so ago before resuming again so it could be that the option is restored again at some point in the near future

I shall tweak the wording of the listing slightly to reflect this.
