Re FD reg saver, Applied for new one on the 9th, old one matured and paid on the 10th.
New one opened today, not to bad as a weekend was in the middle.

How did you apply for a new one on 9th when the old had not yet matured until 10th?
App sure won't allow me, says I already have one open and can't apply for another until current one is closed, and even says this could take an extra 5 days...

One thing I did or as such did not do, was to leave the old account FD savings opened to deposit the maturing RS into last year.
I found it strange that it let me, on the 9th the RS vanished as usual.
So I though lets give it a try. It worked, a few pages back others have tried but not given any updates.
Went through fine, Called Monday to see what was going on, and to give them a poke to hurry up.
I was informed that the old one had paid out but was still open.
When it is closed the new one should open.
I hope you get a new one open soon.

Could it be that your old one actually matured on 9th (rather than 10th) and at that point applying for a new one is permitted?

I also did the same thing with FD. My RS was maturing on the 11th (Sunday). It disappeared from my account on Saturday and I was able to apply for a new RS on Saturday. Funds were paid into an existing easy access savings account with FD yesterday. I am still waiting for the new RS to open - expecting it to do so tomorrow or the day after.

Darlington BS Interest Rate Cuts 2/6/25:

12 Month Regular Saver ~~~~ NO CHANGE ~~~ Remains at 5%

    Aldermore

In addition Aldermore Regular Saver Account (Issue 2) is now NLA, replaced by Issue 3 at 4.75%. All other Ts&Cs seem to've remained the same.

For the past few years I've been able to apply the day before maturity when the account disappears from online banking and before it returns with interest added.  This is how you can get the gap down to 0-2 days.

I don't understand why there is so much interest in saving a day or two when opening a new FD account. £300 @ 7% = less than 6p a day in interest........what am I missing ?
