Is that for existing accounts? Or just new ones?

New accounts as rate is fixed and the drop was reported here a couple of days ago. My 6% reg saver matured today but currently there are still better accounts I can pour money in so won't be opening the 5% account now and wait it out to push any maturity dates further by delaying the opening.

It looks like it's just for new ones as the existing deal is fixed.

In case anyone missed the earlier discussion, that's 5.50% AER equivalent to 5.37% gross. Interest is paid monthly. Applies also to the RBS RS.

Just a heads up if your Skipton reg saver 3 is maturing this month.
I was unable to give maturity instruction online for the last week.
You need to login online via a pc for eg, then get a code from the app.
But after putting the code in it box, nothing happens.
So called today and they have done it manually for me.

    First Direct Regular Saver

Just logged on and although the money isn’t yet showing in my saver account, the “your account is maturing” message was no longer showing and I was able to open a new regular saver  :)
    First Direct Regular Saver

So I had only applied for a new account. I had a second text today to advise due to “overwhelming demand” it is taking longer to open an account but it will be “worth the wait” …

Had the same happen to me for the same RS, on PC. I went around in circles a few times when entering a code, and was left not knowing if the system had accepted my instruction. I ended up phoning, it had not gone through and I got them to insert the instruction manually. The instruction was visible online a hour or so later.
