I’m sure I’ve managed to do it before when the 1st was a non-working day, but it must be because the monthly allowance hasn’t reset yet.
I knew an internal transfer wouldn’t work (the remainder of the £250 is waiting in an EA.)
Skipton internal transfer just accepted for me now but with the message that it will be processed tomorrow as today is a non working day or words to that effect.

From previous experience an internal transfer never works on a non-working day, and as a payment is not treated as received until the next working day, transferring from a Skipton EA on a non-working day would mean a loss of interest. Whereas with a Debit Card, the money was not earning anything in my current account anyway, counts towards the required spend on the card and means it can earn interest a day sooner.
I will internal transfer the remainder tomorrow so that it is treated as received immediately.
They do however allow the opening of accounts on a non-working day, which I have done to make sure an account didn’t go NLA in the interim. The funding window allows funding on a working day if not depositing by card.2 -
happybagger said:I only have the 31/03/26 version but by putting in £250 pm I will not be able to comply with the terms "must deposit between £10 and £250 per month" as in doing so will fall foul of the upper limit of £3750 once a March 2026 deposit is made. 16 months at £250 is £4k.
They need to sort their terms out.
I could not afford to fully fund both if their systems would allow it, so did not consider it worth the faff of having to do £10 and £240 each month for the bulk to be earning 6% fixed for 4 months longer. I am more optimistic about the rates that will be available come 30/11/25 than I would have been about those on 30/11/24 twelve months ago. Inflation is rising so we won’t see the base rate falling as quickly as it rose.2 -

Their terms do state "maximum deposit of £250 per month not exceeding the maximum balance of £3,750."
15 payments Jan 2025 to March 2026 inclusive.
EDIT: Sorry I posted this reply before reading all responses (Bobblehat and Kim_13) that understood the discrepancy.
I don't intend to raise it with them. I'll pay through to March 26 and see what happens.0 -

Those looking to have this account run by calendar month, (i.e. from the 1st of each month), a reminder that today is the day to open/refresh.
> Sorry, we are currently unable to close your account online. This may be because your account:- is not eligible to close online- has no existing eligible payees to receive the closing balance- is currently awaiting uncleared funds e.g. an uncleared cheque- is an ISA or a penalty based account opened within the last 14 days- may have a negative balance- needs both account holders to sign to close the account
I tried opening an easy access saver (just so it had somewhere obvious to pay the funds to) and adding this as a payee (which required setting up a bogus future payment, but this didn't seem to resolve the issue. Might try again later, not the end of the world if it doesn't happen of course.
Coventry Loyalty Seasonal Regular Saver (Refreshing for 1st Month Payment Dates)
I did fund it when I opened it, and from your comment it seems you didn't and therefore could renew? Oh well, I can't be bothered faffing with closing one account now and risking another one, or having hassle trying to get back the 30D interest deduction...will just skip this month and start again from 1st Feb.0 -

Principality Xmas Regular Saver
I opened this in December and funded with £125, yesterday I sent another £125 as it’s a new calendar month but this has been returned.
Has anyone else had problems or know why this might be?0 -

Edit - I've just noticed what's happened. I am sending money from FD Currect and the payment reference is showing as the same payment reference as the 6 month reg saver. Looks like somehow the xmas reg saver ref was over written & that's what was sent through hence why they've rejected it.
I've resent the payment direct from my savings account, and I'll send it from there going forward.1 -
Re refreshing Coventry Loyalty Seasonal Saver...
The account T&Cs say penalty free withdrawals can be made from 1st November 2025 which suggests the interest rate will drop from that date. I opened my account immediately it was launched on 20th December. How I view the account month issue is that I have the right to make a deposit from 20th of a month but not an obligation, I am perfectly free to delay funding until 1st of the following month. So there is no real benefit to refreshing the account.
Of course my supposition about the rate being cut from 1/11/25 may prove to be false, but I have the funds available and a bird in the hand...
God save the King!
I'll save Winston Churchill, Jane Austen, J. M. W. Turner and Alan Turing.0
