Anybody having issues doing an internal transfer from their Saffron Building Society accounts? Normally I'm able to do this in the app, but today I couldn't and logged in via the website to do an internal transfer only to get the error below:

I've been having issues doing the transfer for since I initially tried around 8am.

Those looking to have this account run by calendar month, (i.e. from the 1st of each month), a reminder that today is the day to open/refresh.
I tried this but got the following error message:

    > Sorry, we are currently unable to close your account online. This may be because your account:
    - is not eligible to close online
    - has no existing eligible payees to receive the closing balance
    - is currently awaiting uncleared funds e.g. an uncleared cheque
    - is an ISA or a penalty based account opened within the last 14 days
    - may have a negative balance
    - needs both account holders to sign to close the account

I tried opening an easy access saver (just so it had somewhere obvious to pay the funds to) and adding this as a payee (which required setting up a bogus future payment, but this didn't seem to resolve the issue. Might try again later, not the end of the world if it doesn't happen of course.
Same for me too. I was otherwise just going to skip a January payment for subsequent payments to start 1st Feb

I have two Members' RS, both legacy accounts dating back to 2016 and 2017. My oldest RS's. Not huge balances (interest rate currently 3.80%) but keep them out of nostalgia.

I know, I know..., daft, but there you have it.

I'm just as daft. Thought about ditching Bucks, and also changing to a basic account, but they have in the past offered some leading accounts so I have decided to keep RS Locals open for now. The "opportunity cost" of keeping it open is about £2 p/a.

Thought I'd dropped lucky spotting a single access saver at 4.6% until I saw the £10k min balance! Hopefully there'll be something for a low ISA balance in April.

I made a manual £250 payment to MHBS today, after taking out a second Reg Saver last week.
Its is not showing yet, will keep you all updated.
The first Reg Saver like most are funded by SO, so I don't bother about them.
I will see which date the credit is posted to my account.

Did you make a payment in December? Could it be that funded accounts cannot be closed online?

That will be interesting. Bridlington1 reports that ....

"Deposits on non-working days: Treated as having been received the next working day."

Plus no more than £250 combined between the Savers (so with the SO for the first one that will be £500 this month), plus the second RS is currently offered only in branch and it was opened using a loophole. Yes, it will be interesting just reeding this forum in the next few days... Popcorn ready

You might need a very big tub of popcorn before anything happens regarding "infringements", unless MH get really fed up quickly!

I personally don't like to gamble with my money but am sure you will be fine. Popcorn always ready anyway :-)

I won't gamble with bursting either the £250pm or £3750 overall total rules either, but won't criticise others who are willing to experiment! I wish them good luck!
