Those looking to have this account run by calendar month, (i.e. from the 1st of each month), a reminder that today is the day to open/refresh.

Sidenote, those who have opened the account recently - has Coventry taken much longer to show the new account online please? Feel like it used to be immediate before, but could be due to the time and it being a non working day perhaps.
Whenever I've opened a Coventry account it has showed in online banking immediately. Today was no exception.
Likewise, I'm just waiting now for my external payment to arrive, but there were no issues with the refresh.
    Edit: and it's arrived

Just tried to pay by Halifax debit card to Skipton 7% regular saver - payment doesn't go through, the system says it's over the limit. Last payment I made was credited on the 2nd December. Looks like a glitch in the system.

Correct. Skipton’s systems for some reason either will let you pay in later today, or tomorrow being the 1st working day of the month. I think it’s tomorrow, but not 100% sure. This isn’t in line with the terms of the account as it runs by calendar month, but must just be a bug in an archaic system.

Principality appear to have closed down the duplicate saver loophole for maturing products now. Offered RS maturity products are now the standard 1 year RS bond, or the Christmas 2025 saver, and once logged in I’m prevented from opening another of the latter as I already hold one.

EDIT: I was sent the T&Cs for the 6 month saver as a choice in the post, but that had been removed from maturity options by the time I checked online
Sorry for quoting myself but I’ve just found the duplicate Principality RSs seem to be back on the menu. If you apply via the maturity link and then login it blocks applications if you already hold the same account type, however, if you login first a maturity instruction button has appeared under the soon-to-mature account, which gives the full range of accounts to choose from and it seems to have accepted opening an additional 6 month RS for me

I tried this but got the following error message:

    > Sorry, we are currently unable to close your account online. This may be because your account:
    - is not eligible to close online
    - has no existing eligible payees to receive the closing balance
    - is currently awaiting uncleared funds e.g. an uncleared cheque
    - is an ISA or a penalty based account opened within the last 14 days
    - may have a negative balance
    - needs both account holders to sign to close the account

I tried opening an easy access saver (just so it had somewhere obvious to pay the funds to) and adding this as a payee (which required setting up a bogus future payment, but this didn't seem to resolve the issue. Might try again later, not the end of the world if it doesn't happen of course.

Strange. I literally did nothing after applying for the account, when closing I could select my existing external nominated account to receive my £0.00 payment (had to authorise this payment with an automated phonecall) and that was it.
