I had the same experience with my 12 Month Members Regular Saver yesterday morning. After logging on and finding that there was no option to make a payment or transfer, I rang them and they said the Maturity Easy Access is "view" online only, you're not able to transfer or make payments yourself from this account. The agent took my instructions over the phone, and the funds were in my linked bank account within a couple of hours.granta said:Saffron Small Saver
Mine matured a few days ago into an Instant Access account but I can't find a way to withdraw funds. For all my other Saffron accounts, there is a 'Transfer money' link, but that doesn't exist for this one.
What are my options?3 -
Didn't realise you'd be able to see it online. Thought it was all managed offline. I might pop up and open an account then, I wasn't going to bother as I'd thought there was no online visibilitySpeculator said:Melton Adcock Regular Saver
Posted my application on Wednesday, account showing online this morning with zero balance.I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0 -
There is nothing on the application form requesting id even if you are not an existing customer.allegro120 said:

Thought it might be helpful to summarise my opening experience, which has been good.
Posted application form (2nd class post, from Scotland) on Wed 12th, along with cheque (made out in my favour) for £150.
Did not send ID documents (already a member, added a handwritten note at the end of the form saying I was already a savings member and giving existing account number)
Today (Sat 15th March), I checked my online account. The Adcock RS now showing (giving the account number) as opened on 14th March (Friday) with cheque deposit for £150 as opening transaction.
Have been able today to set up monthly standing order to start from 1 April. COP match given.
No correspondence yet, I expect passbook to arrive next week. Expecting cheque to be debited on Monday, so have been able to ensure that current account balance is sufficient.
Good to know that sending ID for existing members is not necessary. I didn't get that far yet. Because I don't have a working printer I've asked them to send me an application from on 12th (Wednesday), was told that it will be posted straight away, but nothing arrived yet. Hopefully it will come on Monday, if not I will phone and ask them to send it again. I'm not in a hurry but hope that this account won't go NLA too soon. It would be a shame to miss this offer.2 -
It's also worth noting as well that you can make withdrawals from Melton's regular savers over the phone. IIRC when I made a withdrawal from one of their accounts last year the funds took a day or so to arrive in my nominated account.surreysaver said:

Do you know whether I'd be able to withdraw online from Melton's Aldcock?Bridlington1 said:

Posted my application on Wednesday, account showing online this morning with zero balance. The product literature says: "you can make withdrawals from your account without notice or penalty, by visiting a branch of the Society or by sending us your passbook and written instructions to us. You can also transfer funds from your account to a nominated bank or building society account."
I presume that means you can either message (online?) Melton with your withdrawal instructions...

Reads to me as 3 options. Visiting a branch (don't forget to bring your passbook and IDs with you), posting your passbook with written instruction (don't forget to include your signature) or transferring funds to your nominated bank account online.PowerSavingMode said:surreysaver said:

I had no such experience with Melton, but tried to do it by secure messaging with similar BSs accounts offering online access. I had messages back saying that I have to post passbook with written instructions.0 -
That's the trouble with presumptions. It says nothing about online visibility, but you have to manage it by post or in person. Another poster says they can see the account online. So it all starts to become a bit vague. That's why I'm asking!PowerSavingMode said:surreysaver said:

Hi all - On the Principality RS 6 month thing.... I have maxed my current one, but timed the opening of it, so that the interest would be paid in 25/26 FY. I think it will be 6 months on 8th April.
So if I close it now, in order to open a new one and keep benefiting from the current interest rate, presumably they will give me the interest on closure, rather than on the 6 month anniversary? And I'll have to add this interest to my tax return, rather than not have to report it until 25/26 tax year?
And so in that case I'll just wait for them to tell me they have given me my interest and then just open a new one next month.0 -

As the new one will be Issue 3, you can open this as well as having an Issue 2 and/or issue 1. Issues 1 and 2 are NLA. Hence you do not need to close your existing one and can let it mature next tax year.1
