In other words, it matures a year later than RS Issue 6 if you opened early, paying 0.5% more but accepting £50 per month less. What’s not to like? Any excess can be taken by Issue 6, whether that’s £50 or you can afford more.

I wish I remembered what I put on the envelope last time - I avoid putting X Building Society as it makes it too obvious what’s in the envelope - and it obviously got there.

"The Melton" will get there but you will need "Mutual House" if sending to their head office, which makes it pretty obvious IMHO.

Either way, a postman would know. They'd also know that it'd be pretty obvious if they started intercepting applications to a building society and using them fraudulently, and IB would quickly come down on them like a tonne of bricks.

    I wouldn't worry about this.

I was about to fritter away a valuable stamp but thought I'd check my box of savings bumf first, and I've found a Melton freepost envelope (addressed to Oakham) that arrived with the opening of the RS Issue 6 paperwork. Not one for posting off incognito though as it has a massive colourful logo on the front.

Can't see the point of having a Chorley Reg Saver the interest on offer isn't competitive.
Why would someone go for a 5.15% account when there are lots of better paying accounts available ?
    Am I missing something ?
Some people on here have and fund all the higher paying Reg Savers that are available.
Personally, I already have enough at higher rates, so I won’t be applying for one of these.
Presumably they're also dealing with all the AGM admin that comes with having all these mutual accounts. I've had three AGM eMails in the last 24 hours alone.

The Post Office Investigation Branch (IB) is the oldest recognised criminal investigations force in the world ... according to Dr Google.

The irony of that title (Post Office "scandal").

Anyone else risking not including ID (on the basis I'm an existing customer, I don't think I need to include it) or a cheque (hoping I can make a payment) with the application form?

I didn't need ID for the regular saver #6 as a new customer so am assuming it's still the same, but I did pop a cheque in the envelope. I included my existing Melton Online user details as a note on the application form just in case, hopefully I haven't confused things.

I opened #6 six months ago, can't remember now how it was done, but I definitely didn't send any ID documents.
I don't have a printer, so I called one of the branches today, they'll send me the form and SAE. I was thinking to do the same as you - pop a cheque in and include a note outlining my existing account number and hope it will work.

I'm an existing customer, haven't sent any id....just a completed application form, no cheque, ticked box for electronic transfer. Just gave them what they asked for, nothing more. They'll ask if they need anything more won't they.
