A long way from being a "top" RS but for those using it with low balance to maintain a presence at Earl Shilton BS their RS account drops by 0.30% to 3.75% on 1 March 20251

I know that’s the default option on maturity but I thought I’d seen some posters saying they’d closed theirs early & opened a new RS a few days later. Can’t find those posts now though.[Deleted User] said:
I asked them what the options were and there didn't seem to be any. The way they explained it the funds WILL go to a 'smart saver' (low interest of course) and then it’s up to the individual.badger09 said:Co-operative Regular Saver
Mine matures 27/2 but I’ll be out of UK so I want to close it early & open another. I know it’s variable so could change anyway.Has anyone managed to close it online? I can’t see any option. If not, I’ll just withdraw balance let it run to maturity.0 -
I requested closure via chat and Opened a new one a few days later. They insist it has zero balance when you request. Takes about a week.badger09 said:

Thank you! That’s exactly the info I was hoping for.csw5780 said:

That's what I was told when I 'chatted' to them the other day. Was told to expect the closure to be anything up to 5 working days. I didn't go ahead with the closure; not sure whether I will take a punt and just let it roll to the end of the term (which is a few weeks away).0 -
Possibly. I'll just wait a few days then open a new one, if its dropped in rate so be it.badger09 said:

allegro120 With Renew account option, does it transfer all the £ held in RS to the new account say easy access? Is the interest accrued at RS % credited to the easy access account on the same day too?allegro120 said:
Online. Click on 'more actions', 'renew account', choose one of the options and renew it, log off, login again and open a new RS. It did work for me about 18 months ago, I don't know if the trick still works.Newly_retired said:Please would soeone be kind enough to remind me of the exact process for refreshing / renewing my Club Lloyds RS? I have made 12 payments, but a 13th is possible. It matures early March. I don't want to get it wrong.
Also is the easy access account number remains same as the regular saver acct number?0 -
Yes, you can leave the full balance in the regular saver, renew to the easy access, and the balance plus interest earned from the regular saver will be added instantly to the renewed easy access account. After you log off/log on, you’ll see the name will have changed to easy access (if that’s the renewed option you chose). The renewed account number stays the same. You can then open a new regular saver.ChewyyBacca said:

Mine matures in 18 days. I will let it mature and then open a new one if it is still available. If the rate is a bit lower, so be it. It's not very efficient refreshing closer to maturity - have to start from scratch again (£2750 will be back to lower paying EA).PowerSavingMode said:
