They are very slow, it normally takes a couple of working days for payments to show.

I mentioned the "something's gone wrong" issue recently.... still can't renew my BoS RS and still getting the same message.  It is due to mature this month so will just let it run to the end now.

Principality BS savings rate reductions, for currently available variable rate RS accounts, are now visible on its website. Reductions apply from 13 March.

Of course, the majority of Principality's RS accounts are fixed rate therefore not affected. Although one wonders if there might be some NLAs and new issues coming along soon.

Tried opening a Halifax RS yesterday as a new customer but got a message saying I would have to visit a branch, but not explaining why. Anybody else had this? Tried again this morning and still getting it. I've got an account with Lloyds so I'm no unknown to the group.

@Slinky, yes it happened to me too. I had online access with them when I had my mortgage with them but paid it off late 2021 but was unable to open the regular saver with them recently. I tried as a new customer and as an existing customer using my old login details but it wouldn’t let me using either. I gave up as I’ve got enough other regular savers and not really able to travel to a branch.

I think that the renew only works if your RS has matured.
I wanted to refresh a Lloyds RS this week that still had 6 months to run. I couldn’t renew it, so I had to empty it, close it via chat and then I opened a new one the following day once the old RS had disappeared from my online banking.

You can renew anytime, although I believe if you've already used a 'renew' for a RS for LLoyds, Halifax or BoS it won't allow you to renew again. I renewed my Lloyds but I can't renew Halifax or BoS because they all part of the same umbrella group. I now have to transfer all proceeds out, close via chat, and then wait for a fresh application window which can be anything from 10 minutes to 24 hours.

My First Direct RS matured on the 4th of Feb but I was able to apply for a new 7% fixed RS 2 days before maturity but it still took 3 days to open due to high demand - there was a warning when I applied that it would take 3-5 days before the new RS would be opened.

Haven't seen it mentioned yet (apologies if it was and I missed it). Co-op Bank have announced a slew of rate reductions but the 7% Regular Saver is not among them.

renewed both lloyds club monthly and normal monthly and halifax multiple times within a year with no problems. However, always get error message with BOS. Tried on Halifax website and BOS website but no luck.

Never needed to use chat to renew/reopen a regular saver

I got a secure message with account details next day, asking me to wait til tomorrow (didn't do) and add opening deposit and reply(immediately did). Two days after that I had confirmation the opening deposit had been received and passbook was being sent out (not received yet, but not something I urgently need).
