2025 Frugal Living Challenge

Happy New Year everyone. It's been many years since I did this challenge and then it was under a different name. I am now working on a self employed basis and am intending to early retire with my husband in a few months time. We've lived on very little for ages, but are debt and mortgage free. I'm more of a lurker than a poster, but I hope to comment from time to time. Good luck everyone.14

Good evening, frugal friends and a big warm welcome to our newcomers. I hope everyone enjoyed the day and thoughts are with those who have lost loved ones and faced this alone for the first time. Today we were blessed with the appearance of several rainbows and then, around 6pm, a beautiful aurora borealis. Friends of Frugaldom should be able to see the photos on social media. It's the little things that contribute to the huge things in nature that make days special.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Happy NY everyone. Having lurked for many years I began posting more during the back half of last year. I would like to join for this year please. I don’t want to set any targets or figures to achieve. I simply want to make savings in some areas of our lives so that we can use those savings in other areas of our lives that are important to us. We are making inroads into declutterring, using up items we already have and where possible mending items. We spend as little as possible on necessities and make savings wherever we can. Sometimes being frugal is good fun. I see it as a challenge. My DH is retired on State and private pensions. I have a small private pension and am due to get my SP in September. I don’t think it will change our habits. I think they are too ingrained now, but it will be nice to have more choice in September. Good luck with all your frugal efforts this year and I will try to maintain my posts to make myself more accountable.15

I've been doing the challenge for a couple of years, but I don't usually say much on the thread.
With the cost of living I just have to live frugally. (I was overall pretty tight in 2024, but I did have two big expenses.)
I shall endeavour to join in more on here next year, as it will help keep me focused upon saving.
Supermarket prices are scary, so I shall challenge myself in being more adaptable with recipes.15 -
Morning all. I normally lurk on this thread, reading it all but rarely adding anything. This year I am aiming to be super frugal to pay off the last of my old credit card debt and built up a deposit for a house. I'll join the Frugal Challenge and aim to be a little more more active on the thread this year 😁Live the good life where you have been planted.

Morning all,
I managed a NSD yesterday, and today should be one too, as I am not going out to the shops or garden centre. I went through our figures for 2025 and frugal is the way it will have to be, and hoping that the yearly cost of living price increases won’t be too alarming. I did write the figures out, but I have mislaid the paper, if. I find it, I will post the figures.
I did our first grocery shop for the year and I am going to try shopping fortnightly instead of weekly to avoid the delivery costs. For health reasons it is easier for me to do online shopping, plus I don’t drive.
Today will be a quiet day, waiting in for a collection of a couple of return packages and hopefully, a walk in the fresh air to blow away the cobwebs.
Take care, all.

Arrrg.. not such a frugal day, passport renewal and photos.. still done now so that’s over for another 10 years 🤣Laughed as was told I had to remove my glasses for the photo, so now I don’t really look like me? Very odd!5 small packs of noodles purchased (for DS1) as on offer, other than that nothing spent shopping wise.. happy with that ☺️"There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇10
