Been to town as we needed a new bulb for the heat lamp for the chicks. Called into the cash and carry, to look for reductions. Spent £23.90. Got six chicken fillets in marinade. 8 huge haddock in batter, loaf, bag of around 20 ice lollies, huge bag of naan breads, 10 enormous potato bread rolls, and a large tub of chicken garlic mayo sandwich filling. Didn't need any of this, but can't turn down a bargain.
I realised I put the wrong amount on the post the other day, should have worn my glasses. Total was £5.74. So far this month I've spent £29.64 on groceries and £3 on old/vintage beano comics for grandchildren as part of their Christmas presents.
Hugs to @Gem-gem for your aunt, I hope she recovers.
Well done, @Frugaldom on such a low grocery spend this year, despite the expensive coffee. Morrisons won't deliver here, 8 miles away, nor Sainsbury's, 10 miles away. Tesco do, 8 miles and bizarrely Asda, who are nearly 40 miles away! I don't often use any of these as we are always needing town for other things anyway.
Hugs to all, mumtoomany.xxFrugal Living Challenge 2025.8 -
Good evening everyone,
Thank you @mumtoomany for your kind words.@Frugaldom well done on keeping your food spend down low.Another successful boot fair today £135 profit, which will be shared with my Mum. My portion will be used to fund wool - crocheting hobby. My friend and I have both picked a different crochet-along / advent calendar to do this winter. We are going to swap patterns. So we have the choice of two.My Mum had two Christmas wreaths. I am going to remove the old tired accessories and with one crochet different coloured Christmas baubles and attach them and create my own Christmas wreath. Our one fell apart last year after being used for many years. The second wreath frame I am going to crochet spring style eggs and create an Easter wreath. The filling is free to me - Mum had loads over. The wreath is free and where possible I'm going to use up odds and ends bits of wool / yarn.Good wishes to everyone for the coming week.2025 Fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons
