Uber App Payment

As I am reluctant to furnish bank details to Uber, I would still like to use it. I have been told that they won't accept prepaid cards like Clubcard Pay+ or Revolut. 
I thought about using Uber gift card to furnish a balance but I cannot get an answer for their Customer Support. 
Does anyone know/use any method of prepayment that doesn't require a bank account being input to their app apart from normal current accounts?

Why not use a credit card?

I haven't used a CC on my Smartphone yet - just my hangup. I'd prefer no liability eg. a prepaid card say with £100 balance. Or Uber Gift Card with a similar credit balance.

No method of payment on the Uber app require your bank account details. Are you just unwilling to add a debit card accessing your current account?

I've just added a Clubcard Pay+ to my Uber account. I doubt if there would be a problem adding any Visa/MC card.

You could add credit by buying a gift card but buying online needs card details (natch). Don't know if Uber Gift Cards are available in supermarkets etc?

Seems possible to add credit to your Uber account directly but since this requires a card it's not meeting your requirement.

Probably a hangup worth dealing with. They want liability, so if you run up costs you are covered. I have used Uber a fair bit and have friends who use it s lot, they have never had issues and if you used a credit card you would have both Chargeback and Section 75 protection on top of Uber's own customer service and complaints process.

Do you have Revolut? They have a one-use virtual card facility, use that for adding credit?
