Maybe some way to go before commercial Implementation but looked promising.
Seen in Glasgow's daily paper, the Herald, an article about the company developing non turbine, low height small scale fast response generator.
Looks interesting to me....

Interesting tech. You've still got the "problem" that surface wind speeds are lower than those at height, though. And it doesn't turn to face the wind, so the cross-sectional area will vary with wind direction.I'll be interested to see what their LCOE turns out to be.N. Hampshire, he/him. Yeah - wasn't there another company that put some sort of wind ducts onto roof ridgelines, don't think it actually worked?I think....0

Well, it all sounds great but if you dig in you find that it doesn't really exist in any meaningful way yet. There is a prototype that has generated 80W at 10m/s and has about a 6% efficiency. Note this is mechanical conversion, not electrical. Not sure how this actually wins over a small diameter turbine (which would fit in their housing), other than being more complicated.
I wonder how noisy it is. Other flapping wind generators have been failures because of the noise they make, amongst other reasons! Windbelt - Wikipedia0
