Hi all,
Began my journey a few months back, checked my credit score to see that my first account was defaulted on 31/10/24 after missing only 2 payments.
I'm yet to receive anything from the company or official default notice in the mail. Do I continue to wait? Or do I need to contact the company as it's been nearly 2 months to begin making payments?
Many thanks

Are you certain the account has defaulted, and its not just listing default sums in arrears?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Hi thanks for the response.
Across the 3 credit reference agencies the account is showing Defaulted since October, that's the only information I have. No contact or letters from the company since it showed defaulted.0 -
Although a default notice is supposed to be mandatory, sometimes creditors don`t bother, and the first you know of it is when your credit file updates.
Just wait until you are written too, don`t expect anything soon, debt collection is more of a marathon than a sprint.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
