Rain is still pounding the house whilst yesterday was a fine dry day. This morning I'm off early doors down to Glasgow for an hygienist appointment. I go every three months because I have implants, it's a pain but a necessary pain and I enjoy the after glow! I've also an order to collect from Waitrose so will whizz up there on the way home.Sorry for the drive by. Hugs to all. Happy end of term to @Camelot.13

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, hope your travel is ok, it's quite blustery here.
Yes, last day of term - always a busy one but although it's been very stressful at times it's been a lot of fun and the children are all so happy. We had a house challenge yesterday and our team won so there's extra playtime for us! It was lovely to have an hour or so away from my desk to join in the fun.
Lots of baking done this week, three pavlovas made. One for the pot luck lunch, one for the Head Teacher who moaned a few times that he didn't get any and one made for boxing day, just need to put on the fruit and cream on the day. I've also made some fruit cakes (not the best), some oaty biscuits for DGS and lemon curd as I got a huge pile of lemons for next to nothing.
I've just some food shopping to do and some cleaning - a lot of cleaning!
Your Christmas activities sound like they have been wonderful Ruby, I bet your clients loved every minute.
Pleased to hear your eye appointment went well Scarlet. Hope the scans are ok for your DH.
Take some time for yourself Nanny, you seem to be running about after your Dad so much.
Hoping your SIL continues to improve Coxy.
Thanks for all the Christmas ditties taff and happy new kitchen!
Thinking of you Mehefin.
Hugs to anyone else in need, sorry my brain is mush!
Early finish for us as long as the parents remember it's a 2.30 closure today, usually a few stragglers left.
Take care. XX14 -

Morning! Dry again, no complaints here..not saying it's going to continue to be dry but I can hopeI've moved everything to the kitchen now so from now on, new kitchen is in use. It does make the old one look a bit forlorn and empty though. It must have been a tardis though, I can't believe how much stuff I managed to fit in there. Nanny, you're welcome any time, but some notice required if you want a stew or a beef pie
Todays plans are just move the odd thing around and write some cards for the neighbours. My foot is playing up so no wandering around places for me. I feel like there's something I've forgotten to do, I know there isn't but it's that feeling you know? Perhaps I'd better get my list out again to double check...I probably did a bit too much yesterday but at least we have wood now and I can burn the fire all day if I want to! [I won't, it's not cold enough yet, maybe after lunch or something
] Lots of tv watching today...
Nanny, you stand up for your rights! No one of any age has the right to be nasty for no reason, so you go girl! Camelot, overall, this sounds better than last at your place, not so many child incidents. Hope that was the case, glad you had some fun too! Yorkslass, have a rest after the sofa cleaning! mehefin, nuffin much, jus hugs...or cwtches...Gers, safe travels! dp1, good to hear, it's nice when they actually believe you. Right, I'm off to watch some Chateau Christmas stuff, have a good day folks, wrap up and find your happy....

Good morning, , thanks for starting Gers.
You'll be glad that it's end of term Camelot, you've got a busy life.
Dh's CT scan went ok yesterday, next one will be on Monday, a bone scan. It's a full body scan I think. We should be going to a funeral on Monday in the late afternoon, but I don't think we'll get there. This is a long appointment, according to the paperwork he's got.
TA, I'm glad to see you back, sorry to see you've been so poorly.
We are visiting an old friend this morning - to be honest we could both do with just staying at home, but this lady has been in our lives for years and years, and she likes a visit and a chat.
Hope everyone is ok and has a good day today, it's a busy time isn't it.
There's loads of people I haven't mentioned, sorry.
Take care folks.

Hi all
Camelot - enjoy extra play time 😂
Gers - safe travels
Taff - thanks for the carols and always remembering to mention so many others (my memory isn’t that good!)
Scarlet - enjoy time with your old friends but I hope you can get some rest - I know only too well how tiring all these hospital appointments are for all involved.
Yesterday saw me cleaning the bannisters - must be 60+ spindles (double return) so that was me on my knees with an old toothbrush in all the nooks and crannies. Looks better though. Made an elderflower and fennel cake too - very tasty.Today - longish dog walk and then a quick trip to the post office and the fabric shop in case they might have a sale in their Christmas stuff 🫣😉
take care all,

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Calm before the storm here as apparently we are due strong winds and rain for the w/e.
Normal service is a long time resuming here but I am slowly getting there. Still coughing up gunge (sorry!) and very weak and wobbly so doing what I can and ignoring what I can't. I have a delivery of basics due shortly and hopefully will get out over the w.e for some f & v. All the stagnating stuff in the fridge got cleared out yesterday. I hate throwing food away but no choice.
It was a year on Wednesday since my DB passed suddenly and I have SIL calling up this afternoon for a swap of the bits and pieces for our respective DGC. In my case (and probably hers too) it's money this time and fortunately I had mine all organised before my lurgy struck. I must attempt at least a bit of a spruce up (both me and the house!) before she comes.
I hope everyone is doing as well as can be but ((HUGS)) for MR & MRS SCARLET. It's no fun having tests and scans at any time for feels so much worse before Christmas. Take care all be safe xx

Morning all. It's freezing here; 16 degrees in the living room when I got up, in spite of the heating being on.
We had heavy frost overnight and will have to de ice the car in a while as we're out walking with friends this morning. It's about 5 miles and the last past our of round Northamptonshire route. The friend who leads it is very keen to finish before Christmas hence walking today. He says he's found a good pub for lunch though, so all is forgiven
We had a super party evening at one of my Morris sides last night but we are all coming to the conclusion that this will be our final summer dancing and then we will disband. I'm sure that most of us will keep meeting up as a social group and a few have spoken about joining other sides instead. This is a group I've danced with for 43 years and our children have grown up together but numbers are too low now to keep going and people have various injuries, ailments and other calls on their time.
Off to get ready to walk. have a super day everyone and keep warm and dry.13 -
Morning everyone
It looks like it will be another bright day here but it's forecast to be really windy again over the weekend.
My last day at work for 2 weeks today - I'm ready for it, even though I just work afternoons. Little one had enjoyed her trip yesterday, but unfortunately there was an incident with her blood sugars going so low that they should have phoned DD and didn't, so she's sent yet another email. She's asked if one of the nurses can go in and speak to them at the start of next term, just to go over things again. She has a new class teacher starting then too, so she will have to be trained too.
Little one had diarrhoea last night, so she'll not be there today anyways. The plan was for her to come up to my house when I finish work, so we'll just have to see how she is later.
I feel quite organised now! Shopping delivery to come tomorrow and DD will finish my painting - hopefully!
Sunday wrap eldest DDs presents before she comes home, Monday put my bedroom back together and clean the house, Tuesday prepare veg at mams ready for Christmas lunch.
Right I'd best make my packed lunch, then I'll go down to mam and dads to do the banking.
Hope everyone has a good day x12 -

Hello all, thank you for all your supportive comments. We're going up to dad's today just to get his gas and electric meter readings and we're in no mood for any of his antics. Mr Fix It was really annoyed with him too and after all we do for him he behaves like that.
Today my leg is playing up, I think it may be all the walking around the sm yesterday but anyway all my food shopping has been done although I forgot a lettuce, but probably it's only me who would eat it. After a few days of heavy xmas food all I sometimes want is a light salad, never mind I'm sure I'll survive. I did get a reduced price loaf to use for the stuffing and I saved £18 with my loyalty card at the sm, very MSE.
I've finished the hampers so all I have to do is wrap them now and after that also DGD's presents, then I'm done. I have a load to go in the wm and the DW to attend to then the day is mine.
Take care all, hugs to everyone who is sad/lonely but especially the poorly ones and the Scarlets. I went through exactly the same stuff this time last year, it's an awful time. I'm thinking of you both xx
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently9
